Limit F2P to only 1 account, subscribers infinite! Your subscribers pay you, while the botters continue to run around with many accounts and get around your 4 account limitations.

So the way I see it, if you want to get rid of the botters (which there is no evidence of anything other than wanting to get rid of paying multi-subscirbers, because I still see many botters running rampant) then you will limit F2P people to only one account. If someone tries to log with more than 1 account you could then have a popup saying, "Sorry but only one account may be logged in at a time while you are F2P. You'll be able to log more if you subscribe with them. Learn more about the advantages of subscribing here!"

But it seems you've simply decided to use an ISP blocker...
Ah well. See if I care to play anymore. You're only punishing yourself Ankama. That's at least $420 a year you will be losing.

I'm not sure that would work (sorry I hate to be mean!) how would Ankama know if 2 F2P accounts are held by the same person? As we know pro botters are constantly generating new ISPs in which case 2 accounts working similtainiously (with different ISPs) would of course be allowed.

I belive Ankama are doing all they can smile.gif the easyest thing for them to do would be to cancell F2P and perhaps have a trail server instead, of course I don't think this is going to happen because I belive Ankama do this for joy rather than money (i mean look at the subscription fee, peanuts!) and allthough the current measures being taken are less affective, more ardous, time consuming, and expensive -considering how much people power it requires!- it is preferable for the overall enjoyment of players!

Cheers Ankama!

They know becuase they read your ISP adress then they would see if the isp adress is registered with a P2P account or an F2P account

if it is F2p - they stop what you from opening more than one dofus window
if it is P2p - you would be able to open more than one dofus window

think about it , jo

  1. ISP address is not your IP address (if u don't pay public IP address)
  2. Do u think, that bots owners are using classic dofus client?
  3. There is no chance to stop bot using IPs restriction or static informations in Dofus client. It's about fuzzy logic or neuron sites.
  4. Easier is something as CAPTCHA. If system recognize user as bot, display an image with characters and user have 30 seconds to retype it ... if not - hastalavista baby, 2 hours ban ... A lot of bans = account ban ...

They do check the IP address of someone creating an account, to check how many other accounts are registered to it. However, botters simply generate new IP addresses, so hundreds of IP addresses-4 accounts-per address= thousands of bot accounts. I dont see any way around it personally.

Imagine a household with 10 people. The house has 1 IP/ISP address, yet 10 different players. That wouldn't work.
