General Information
What is a Moderator? Moderators are volunteers - NOT Ankama employees. They have limited powers in-game and on the forums that help them sanction players who break the rules and the Terms of Service. They are also the ones who remove bots. Moderators help Game Masters with events, acting as extra hands or peace keepers. Moderators are the game’s police officers and do a great service for the community. -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Do moderators have special advantages?
Moderators benefit from no special advantages: moderating is a responsibility, not a privilege. They may decide to moderate for any number of reason, but remember that it is an entirely voluntary activity. -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Can a moderator increase the level of my character?
No, they cannot. Moderators have no powers over your character's stats. Any player who offers to increase the level of your character is probably a scammer. As a reminder: moderators are in game to ensure players abide by the game rules and to encourage a good atmosphere (in particular: respect, no insults, preventing harassment, preventing identity theft.) -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Can a moderator give me items or Kamas?
No, they cannot. Moderators will never contact you to give you items or Kamas. You may on very rare occasion receive items from Game Masters as part of an event. These items are generally not very valuable and will never affect your character's stats. They are simply given out as part of events (e.g. fairyworks, disguises, etc.). -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Security Issues
How can I recognize a Moderator? DOFUS moderators have a unusual appearance (skin) in game – they are represented by a lion with a loin cloth and shoulder pads. When moderators speak in game, it is either with an ordinary message, with a red-coloured message or a private message to one or several players. A moderator will never ask for your password, your secret answer or your email address. In fact, they will never ask for ANY information about your account!!! Beware of fake moderators! Unfortunately, some unscrupulous players sometimes try to pass for moderators in order to steal items or accounts. If you’re the least bit unsure of the identity of a person contacting you, here’s what you need to ask for to find out whether they are in fact who they say they are:
Example – the command /whois *(MOD]XX returns CharXX (Modo: (MOD]XX) is in Astrub or Mod is written in red. Beware: if the person cannot send you a red message and if the response in the chat window does not indicate ‘MOD’, you are most definitely talking to an account thief! Stop talking to this player immediately and do not give them any information about your account. -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

A player has offered me a position as a moderator. Should I trust them?
No, only administrators can offer you a moderator position. Note that moderators can also refer you . The moderator or administrator who contacts you will never ask you for your account name or password, nor will they ever ask for anything in exchange for the right to become a moderator. If a player asks you for Kamas or an object in exchange for making you a moderator, they are most likely trying to rob you. Moderators or administrators who contact you will ask you to make an application either on the forum or directly by email (address@ankama.com only). They will never deal with your application directly in-game. -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Can moderators help me if my account is stolen?
Unfortunately not. Remember that you alone are responsible for the security of your account. An account cannot be stolen unless you voluntarily give out your personal details (account name, password, secret answer or email account details) or put your computer at risk. Moderators are not part of the Support service. Their function is simply to ensure that players abide by the rules of the game and to encourage a good atmosphere. -------------------- Important and Useful Links Support <<>> Terms of Service <<>> UK Forum Rules <<>> Community Site <<>> Game Guide |

Sanctions
How do I report unacceptable behaviour or comments? Moderators are responsible for noticing behaviour which contravenes the rules of the game and bring it to the attention of the community managers. If you encounter provocations and insults, the best approach is not to reply and not to mention that a complaint will be brought against the player in question. If the player continues, you can ignore them or put them in your enemies list. 1. To ignore them:
2. To put them in your enemies list:
