Farmer research, all farmers please fill out the poll!
Hi everyone!
I'm conducting this research because I have a level 74 Farmer and have NEVER even seen a glimpse of a rare drop This has made me interested in what you need to be doing to recieve these drops, Is there a relation to prospecting? On wiki they suggest you can get one just by gathering in which case It shouldn't be anything to do with prospecting. Comments welcome if anyone has any ideas please make a comment!!! Terrycloth |

I'm not a frequent farmer by any means (my alt is my farmer/baker) but when I do farm, I tend to get 600-800 of each type of cereal I need in one go, usually 2-4 types of cereal.
I'm level 7x farmer, have encountered countless numbers of resource protectors, and never had a single rare drop. Obviously these drops exist, I've seen them, but god knows what it took to actually drop one. |

Ummm I think the reason for Farmer's rare drops being very rare is that the Proffesion is so much easier than most - it is much easier to drop rare fish in the fisherman proffesion, as they are a very hard proffesion to level, and there has to be some sort of reward

I'm a lvl 100 farmer but I got there by traditional methods. Every piece of wheat, barley, rye I reaped went into making bread. A lot of farmers I know leveled by making the highest lvl flour they could - even if their baker couldn't use it. (Even if they had a baker - I dont understand that btw - why be a farmer if you are not a baker..)
Things to note: My farmer is an alt - he was lvl 20 when he got his 100 farmer, so his prospecting was real low - he had a bworky tho which I trained at the same time. And I've had about 6 or 7 rare drops in all that time. He currently gets about 2700 wheat per full load, not a str char - a feca - but at least the scarecrows can't touch him - earth shield ftw.. Just keep going - spend the time in the fields and you'll get your drops.. I got more ethereals from scarecrows than rare drops.. This post has been edited by Seleucius: 4 Aug 2009, 08:01 |

Huh. Anyway. I've had 2 level 100 Farmers, one was on an alt account (when Shika content was entirely F2P) for about a year or so, and one which I've had since a month go.
I had never gotten any on my alt account, but I've dropped 1 Euphoric and 1 Golden on my current farmer. |

I've been around for a while but with big breaks in play so I'd say I've been farming for about 6 months on Shika. Level 100 (naturally, given that length of time) and it's my main way of earning kamas, so in that space of time I've done a LOT of farming.
In that time I've gotten only one resistant Rye (despite most of my farming being of wheat) and that was from a protector. I'm glad in a way that it's the same for other people and not just my bad luck. |
