Issue: 1. The word "magical" should be changed to "magic."

Hop [Item's description]
"The flower of the female Hop plant contains all the active ingredients used by brewers such as bitter resins and essential oils..."
Issues: 1. Flowers are genderless, the word female is probably referring to a specific, but unclear, part of the flower. 2. The word Hop is capitalized in it's description. 3. There should be some sort of punctuation between the words "brewers" and "such."

Consolation Drop [Item's description]
"This drop has prevented you from bursting into tears."
Issues: 1. The word "candy" would probably be more descriptive than "drop." 2. I'd imagine that the reception of the drop is what prevented the crying, instead of the drop itself.

Barley Flour [Item's description]
"... It gives a certain lightness to the centre..."
Issue: 1. The word "centre" should be "center" on account that dofus uses the American spellings.

Barley [Item's description]
"Barley is a type of cereal used for making beer. It's also used for feeding livestock... Finally, it can be used for getting your livestock drunk."
Issue: 1. The last sentence's usage of "finally" is awkward.

Wheat [Item's description]
"...inhabitants and Tofus."
Issue: 1. The word "tofu" is capitalized, even though it isn't a proper noun.

Moskito Wings [Item description]
"A very distinctive feature of these very thin wings is that they imbue those who dare chew on them with spectacular powers of concentration. They have almost the same taste as rotten Kwak eggs, hence their use the making of wisdom potions."
Issues: 1. The first sentence is awkward. 2. Having the taste of rotten Kwak eggs probably has less to do with making wisdom potions than imbuing spectacular powers of concentration. That or, the irony wasn't well enough exhibited.

Wild Sunflower Petal [Item's description]
"This petal moves. It moves according to the sun. Put it in your right pocket in the morning and you'll find it in your left by evening. Unless you yourself turn round during the afternoon..."
Issues: 1. The first and second sentences are redundant. 2. The third sentence is awkward. 3. The fourth sentence is redundant and awkward.

Boar Leather [Item's description]
"...Locals use this trait to trap the females who are too stupid to see through their clumsy strategies."
Issues: 1. The usage of "their" is ambiguous. 2. The word "simple" would probably be more appropriate than "clumsy."

I almost feel bad about finding this many typos... It's almost as if I'm working you too hard...

Apparently, gender is a made-up concept. However, I believe with some trees, pear trees for instance, the entire tree is male or female, so you need two trees to get fruit.

It uses whichever spelling the translator translating at the time prefers. A lot it American, a lot is British.

Monster names are often capitalised, as is "Kamas" in all NPC dialogues I've seen. Class names are capitalised, but if you look at it that way, they probably shouldn't be. A Cra's Range should be called a cra, not a Cra?

My main problem is that it's confusing, due to its ambiguity.


I was under the understanding that we were using the American, and the British was residue from a previous translator. Either way, it's inconsistent.


In the end, it really is up to HarvestPale, but I'm just pointing this out because inconsistency bothers me. Well, that and the fact that dofus might be teaching young children improper capitalization rules, but mostly just the inconsistency.

I think HarvestPale said he wont be changing words which are different in American and British English. E.g. colour - color, centre - center, etc.
