Arunk As the locked thread stated many times, test servers are temporary. After they have released the version, and given people plenty of time to find the bugs in it (usually about a monthish) they close the test server until a new test is open...which now Beta 2.0 is open for beta key holders, which I would think is using up the resources of test servers. So no, it won't open again. |

If I am understanding it correctly only those with Beta Keys will be able to test 2.0 (the real version is suppose to go live December 2nd).
If I am correct in my understanding then you will have to wait until they release 2.1 or something like that. |

Well In The Past I've Been Able To Access A Test Server Even After The Server Has Been Launched And Have Continued To Play On The Test Server Long After It Has Been Launched. So I'm Assuming That Maybe There Will Be A Test Server For 2.0 ??? :S. Again If Anyone Has Answers Please Reply. Ty.

What's the 2.0 Beta test if it's not a test server?

All im reading from you are assumption's not fact's. >.> 2.0 Beta is already going on, this is a test phase and while I can not find any Devblogs that 100% says that it is not going to be a 'free' test phase, I can't see the purpose of doing a Beta Key thing and then allowing everyone else after months of letting Beta Testers find the bugs for us. That being said, 2.0 is not like any other update. Precious little "new" stuff is coming out, rather its a re-vamp of graphics and animations with a few new features to make the workings of Dofus easier (like being able to exit maps by clicking on the edges of the map rather then on a compass rose) which I am imagine is the reason that they hyped it up by allowing only Beta Keys, if there were brand new content then it would be like every other testing phase. I Meant A Test Server That Everyone Can Access Just Like Every Other Patch, After 2.0 Has Been Released In December You don't need a capital letter at the beginning of each word. It's worse than no capital letters, and it's extra effort for you.1. Current version... 2. Test server: Tests upcoming features to see if they work, before putting them into the main game. 3. New version: Put "working" features into the game. 4. Goto 1. Ankama will probably bring back the test server once they've got Dofus 2.0 out the door. The resources used for testing are probably being used for 2.0 testing. It's very unlikely they'll have a "test-server 2.0" after they've released 2.0... you don't test like that for something EVERYONE is testing/playing on ALL servers. When 2.1 turns up on the horizon, they'll probably bring back the test-server. If they weren't bringing back the test-server why haven't they closed this forum? Ok, I Dont Need To Have Capital Letters At The Beggining Of Each Letter But It's Something I've Always Done And Always Will Do But Anyway Back To The Original Point, You Said That The Test Server Is Just To Find Bugs, But I Think Of The Test Server As A Server To Test Out New Equipment, Builds And Spells Aswell As To Find Faults And Glitch's. |

You Have A Problem With Capped Letters ? Personally, it looks like a sign-writer's convention throwing up. History doesn't excuse bad habits (and in this case it's blatantly incorrect grammar).Ok, I Dont Need To Have Capital Letters At The Beggining Of Each Letter But It's Something I've Always Done And Always Will Do QUOTE But Anyway Back To The Original Point, You Said That The Test Server Is Just To Find Bugs, But I Think Of The Test Server As A Server To Test Out New Equipment, Builds And Spells Aswell As To Find Faults And Glitch's. And bugs in those new features. And depending on your definition of bugs that can range from coding error, to oversights in how they can be exploited etc. They don't test stuff that they won't seriously consider in respect to Dofus. I only ever specified "test". This post has been edited by GoldfishGod: 23 Oct 2009, 21:16 |

I Don't Know About You But Not Many People Go On The Test Server To Find "Bugs", But Just To Have Fun And Test Out New Equipment & Builds. And since 1.29 test server went down is the first time I have ever heard of people going on the test server for anything other then testing bugs and glitches and to check out new updates. I guess it is just who you run with. And I agree with Goldfish, the capping of every word makes it hard to read ;x, makes the sentence look a bit choppy. Though still better then "Hai wats up, i h8 th1s!!!111!!" This post has been edited by Buggabug: 23 Oct 2009, 21:22 |

I've seen maybe a few people who go on there not to test bugs. And oh my god, those caps hurt my eyes...I feel like every sentence of yours is an acronym. |

They said only players who played 10+ hours on 1.29 beta can get in without a key somewhere i was reading so my guess would be you didn't play test server

I am not bothering with Beta of 2.0 as nothing major is changing, just ugly graphics being introduced with a few minor tweaks here and there...not worth putting up with memory leak issues, as there are loads of people who are testing and reporting the bugs. |

Doesn't matter if you download the client or not. I tried logging in with one of my alternate accounts and it says that it's invalid. You have to login with a registered beta test account. As for the link that sends you to the activation code entry site it's legit. Also for the love of god stop capitalizing every letter of every word.

Ehem. I'll try not to be snark, but it's rather evident how this is working.
First and foremost, accounts are either activated by Beta Key on the described page, or via a site bug/Ankama promotion which randomly activated several accounts. I, for one, was able to access all four of the characters I usually log without having to input a Beta Key. Several other friends were able to confirm this, whilst others still required a key, dubbing the initial comment. Next, a Test Server has been permanently deactivated until the official release of the 2.0 client. Why you may ask? Well, as we all know, the Test Server is an actual server of its own; that requires hosting and paying of itself. The 2.0 Beta client is running on four servers, for French, Japanese, International, and a fourth one which I cannot seem to remember. Why allow players to test things in 1.29 when everything is already released? They're losing money by having the 1.29 test server active. There is much more to be done with 2.0, and that is the purpose of a test server. Not to have fun, despite what you may want. Thirdly, there is no Duty Free Zone. Simply because, they have much more work to do than redesign the map. It's a pointless area for this moment, but we may see it later on in order to test bosses, alignments, etc. - S |

Also, the most likely reason one of the above posters was able to log in one day, but not the next is they are p2p. Ankama has been providing p2p players with free access to 2.0, without a key, on certain days. Aka Gate Crashers events.
And yeah, at the moment Duty Free would serve no real purpose. As I understand it, you get all your stat points and spells reset the first time you log in to 2.0, and the beta is for the new features, not to test gear and/or stat/spell changes. The stats/spells in 2.0 are the same as the last release, if I have my info right. Edit: Agree with Alyss. I am dyslexic, so I skipped the vast majority of the posts that were mostly capital letters. Just way too hard for me to read and understand. This post has been edited by KasumiSarai: 20 Nov 2009, 21:49 |
