QUOTE • Moderators and Gm's. Are you the one that will help theese awesome people with answers and providing them with what they need to keep doing their job now that Kaoly is gone? I surely will do my best to give some support to the Moderators’ team. But my time being limited, I can’t replace properly the missing Community Manager. I am currently recruiting someone who, I think, will perfectly do the job, but who will not be available before a few months. Meanwhile I have several options: like recruiting someone for a short period of time or relying on the moderator’s team current organization. From the mp I got I can tell your moderators are very willing to help. I am daily in contact with some of them. I have no precise information about Kaoly’s return (this is also why it took us so much time to react: her absence was originally supposed to be brief) but this could happen at any time. I am waiting for some more news from her before taking my decision. QUOTE • Mentors. This was a project made by Kaoly that currently is extremely flawed and abused. Is there any plans of advancing their position in this community, will you freeze the whole project or will it continue as it does now? I know very few about this project. I conducted a similar one on the Spanish Community but I do not have the required information to lead this project to the end (neither the time). Therefore, the project will be frozen. QUOTE • Promised updates and extensions. We all understand that theese has been put on hold but why does Ankama give out dates of releases that they don't fullfill and why aren't they explaining them selfs. We don't know what is going on. We aren't getting what was promised for us. Atleast give us explanations. Very wide question, I think some other player I’ve been asking the same thing more precisely and I will answer them. You can reformulate maybe, so that I know exactly to what promises you’re referring? (I now go on reading and answering the other questions) |

QUOTE I have only one question I heared that Ankama will change hoster for International servers between 3rd-10th April and as compensation we will get 2 Tempus blosom.. but my question is what about our P2P we spend money not for week doing nothing and get 2 flowers Do we will get p2p time back?? Where have you heard that? oO Not that I know. QUOTE Welcome Nabolo, my only question is and like RossIsCooler said we don't wanna flood you... So many people are really anxious myself included to find out what happen to Dofus 2.0? Can we please please please have an update!! Since Idk maybe this time last year we have had only 1 Update on its progress; the teasing screenshots from Amakna! Are they 10%, 20%, 30% of the way there? Have they given up? Are they axing staff thanks to the global recession? Has it been shelved instead to make way for Wakfu?! Why are they 'fixing' things that aren't broken? Do we have to wait for 73 more updates before 2.0 is released?! These are the questions that appear daily on the forums. Your mission if you choose to accept it... ^.^ Progress report please. xD Can I refuse the mission? XD The team is of course still working on DOFUS 2.0, we of course didn’t give up about that project. Our developers are constantly working on it. I cannot give you any precise date of release but I can give you a link to the last screenshot we published on the website. Had you seen them? QUOTE Hello, welcome to the international forums. I've had this question kicking around for sometime and I think this is an appropriate place to ask it. I'm interested in knowing if Ankama has intensions or plans to make official statement regarding their position on account sharing. I'm well aware of what the ToS says, yet I've seen tickets from support saying that Ankama will not ban accounts based on account sharing, they simply won't return items. Account sharing is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN (as reminded each time you connect your account to the game, in red, in the chat). Another question would be: is account sharing strictly sanctioned? Truth is, the team doesn’t inquire about who is sharing account or not. But if an account has been shared, and you have a problem with it, the support won’t provide you any help. You might as well get banned if somebody finds out (at least, we have the right to do it). If sanctions are not apply strictly, at the moment, I plan to change that soon or later (people who share or have shared their accounts might get a bad surprise). I’ve already started on the heroic server (but it is a particular case). This said, account sharing is different from “account selling” or “exchanging account”: if you get caught trying to sell or exchange your account in the game, you might be banned for good (we daily sanction a respectable among of players for that reason). |

Everyone is on proverbial tenderhooks over Dofus 2.0, and most of the buzz seems - as far as I can tell - to be over faster, more reliable server connections, a rebuilt engine, and most of all a complete graphical rework. Giving a game as big as Dofus a liberal lick of fresh paint is understandably a time-consuming process, so the last thing I want to do is poke you guys with the now age-old "I can has 2.0 nao?" question.
What with all the hype over the graphical overhaul I can't help but wonder: will there also be an overhaul made to the game's audio? I love the look of Dofus, the design on the characters and environments is original, charming and not quite like anything else I've ever seen. But the look of a game only makes up half of the experience, and to be brutally honest, Dofus's sound has always disappointed me. The poor sample rate, while saving a bit on download speeds and file size, makes the music and sound effects rather dull and lifeless. The music itself, while not bad, is samey and shared across most of the world (as far as I've explored so far, at least) and while grinding levels in one location or spending an hour at a time digging down a mine, hearing the same low-quality tune over and over again has the capacity to send your average gamer insane. Something I hate to do while playing a game is to turn its music off and listen to my own playlists instead, thus effectively wasting the days of toil the composer probably put into it. This is a long-winded way of asking a pretty simple question, but I understand how important sound is in a game and I think this pretty simple question has pretty complex implications. A while ago Kaoly had started a post that let players ask a few questions that would be answered in podcasts. Was this project canceled or frozen? Or was the link never posted here on the international forums?

But the look of a game only makes up half of the experience, and to be brutally honest, Dofus's sound has always disappointed me. I can't find the link just now, but I believe one of the developers posted about this on the Wakfu site a while back. They explained that they were very disappointed with the sound quality (especially as they have good quality sound), but that the limitations of programming in Flash make it very hard to use better quality audio. They were excited about the prospects of using better audio in Wakfu, because it was programmed in Java. (of course, I could be misremembering this.. Anyone else remember reading it?) -------------------- Please contact me on the UK forums.

Very wide question, I think some other player I’ve been asking the same thing more precisely and I will answer them. You can reformulate maybe, so that I know exactly to what promises you’re referring? Ankama made an announcement in the book you sell that Ice Continent was prepared to get launched last year and Dofus 2.0 was suposed to be out in February this year. This is the information I've gotten told from a majority of the posters here at forums (never bought the book my self). I wonder why we don't get told whats going on. Updates on the progress with theese launchings would be more then welcomed. Sorry for beeing unclear. /youbutsu |

Haii, I'm Okii, from Rushu (biggest problem server out there)!! Nice to be discussing these recent tribulations with you all =)
Okay but, sadly, disappointment already in the update v__vUlll ---NO ACCOUNT SHARING/TWO-BOXING!?!?!? what the deuce x.x I can't gather a mob of high levels every time I want to go to a high level dungeon! >:O I have to use my lil' Eniripsa and my Panda =( I recently subscribed for a year, too; and I take my friends out to level and such when they are offline as a surprise, as they do with my characters. My fiance and I share everything we own just about-- including this game and all it's changing aspects. If someone lends their account to someone and the account is stolen, that is not any one's responsibility but their own and they have to pay the price for it and learn the very hard way =__=* Maybe in the tutorial you should warn players more about things like that-- inform them more than just buttons and spells and NPC's... try telling them that they could lose everything they worked for by giving out their account info... that people will scam the mess out of you no matter how nice they are ): Ankama, have you not thought of having voluntary Moderator Assistants? Not full-blown moderators, and lacking much of their penalties and abilities, you know? Such as an immediate high-authority bug, spamming/hacking, abuse of the rules, or bot checking reporting system? This would easily cut back on the bot armies and I believe it would bring players together more; but these assistants need to be moderated themselves, carefully chosen for their clean records, attitude and maturity levels, and overall understanding of the game itself-- Their actions should be kept track of in case of abuse of their rights as well. I would rather have this come into act than having account sharing ripped away from me, all that hard work to have anytime assistance.. all the invested money in memberships and not to mention all the wasted money after this update... ---What's this about 10% of the damage hp being irredeemable in battle <<? Honestly, yeah, Eniripsa battles are long, but seriously... to change everything around that fact... (it's either that or sacriers) it's rather unfair for the lot of us-- and wouldn't you think that it doesn't make much of a difference anyways? If you're losing health and the eni is too-- the eni heals him/herself and you're 10% unhealable as he/she is but he/she is healed to their full potential. Eniripsa's are mostly made TO HEAL (note the name of the class is Aspirine backwards...) and so- this frustrates me. ---I am perfectly happy with the way things were. Srams are better, I think so anyways, and I thank you for that because our range is aweful and I have trouble in pvp all the time. My wings have always been little nubs x.x. I agree that Sacs have had a lot of changes made, but watching them battle with a group and buffing is rediculous. The damage bonus is infinite and it seems a little unreal. I also agree that Iops are highly feared because of Wrath and that a few tired or hurried Iops base their stratedgy on the corner, lock, Wrath, repeat system... but I believe that the issue would have been simply solved by making the caster wait out the cool down even after a critical failure. This would give other characters plenty of time to do some damage and then some. The changes in tactics, such as dodge rolling and the healing, and also this concept of more Hp (or was that just the Beta??) are things that will take some getting used to... still not sure what most of it means yet @__@ . Dofus has improved in a number of ways, I must be positive on the work you have all put into this game (been playing Dofus since the release date) and you are all very creative and the like, but look at it this way: Dofus is downloadable. The person that downloads and starts to play should have to abide by the rules you make, it is your creation and though some things may be tough and crude, there are so many people that play Dofus that have played from the start, and deal with all the changes ( Royal air tofus in Astrub :3 )and still play to this day. I am one of them, not sure I am proud of this; I am leaving at the 2.0 update if the characters aren't made to be the way they always have been. l love chibi's, draw em' all the time, but I will not sit back and watch this game be degraded and reduced into a childishly based platform and still pay the money I pay for a gaming experience that I used to always love. On a more positive note: By the way-- I love mounts and everything about them =) I love the design, so cute ^^ I remember when they first came out, the first mount I saw was a turquois and Ivory one named Sook, male. I have a female mount of the same color named Nokoda and she is my pride and joy <3 ... But maybe another option? Different mount styles, perhaps? as in some with horns or some other physical alterations- styles of markings (such as spots)? I believe that this would make the breeding system less monotonous v__v as well as adding an interest in them other than just colors matching with stats. And I would definately have to say that the Skeleton Dragoturkey is the cutest/awesomerest (made that word up) mount =) Good job on the mounts, Ankama artists! QUOTE Hello Nabolo, I really appreciate you for creating this section enabling us players and members of the community to speak to those of Ankama. I would have many questions which I would like to discuss, but I will only present a couple (seeing your time is limited and as I want to give others the chance to have their questions answered) 1) I read from some Dofus related site that Dofus 2.0 will be released in May 2009, is this true? and is it the official announced date There is no official announced date at the moment. QUOTE a.) will new in game content be added in 2.0? I.e. dungeons for high levelled players, new towns? At the moment DOFUS 2.0 is planned to be launched without a new content (this would be added later on). QUOTE B.) will rest of the dofi (if dofi was the plural from of dofus) be finally added to the game? It will, but not necessarily at the same time than the arrival of DOFUS 2.0. QUOTE c.) will the Ice Continent along with the Ice Dofus be released? No, it will arrive after DOFUS 2.0 QUOTE 2) Why where the July 2008 server crash compensations taken away from some players? I am not aware of this problem. There was a problem with the distribution of the compensations (some of them have been given one month later) but no compensations have been “taken back” by us (apart from, maybe, some justified and particular cases). |

Thank you Nabolo for the answers! Although I am one of the "victims" of the July server crash who never got all of their items back (not that it matters anymore), after I received my generous 6x compensation gifts I got very excited and happy, sadly a week or two later all of my candies just had disappeared. I never got any reply why I hadn't received all of my items or why the candies just puffed away, been waiting 9 months and still counting. I don't mind the fact that I wont get the candies nor the items back, but it would atleast be nice to get some sort of reply as it is part of the customer service which I paid for. few quick questions..
why does ankama reveal things they are working on, give an approx date then totally tease us with more info about it when its not even close to being ready? kinda dickish if i do say so myself. does ankama make good updates just to get more people to make 1-3 month subs then nerf them a week later just to get thier profits up again when they are starting to lose players? with this last update it got my attention. lastly... i understand your busy with w/e your doing but are you really THAT busy to not respond to more problems for over a week? and are you the only one qualified to even attempt answering our questions? |

My turn now.
First of all, do the devs know that the strokens are ruining the ingame economy and preparing counter measures? With powerful scrolls and souls being available so easily now, there's no reason anymore to do certain dungeons. Then, are there any plans to make it so players that don't want to fight other players can fight their monsters again, without the threat of unwanted PvP and it harsh consequences but also without missing out on fundamental bonuses? How do ankama interpret this update its bad reception? Are the devs aware of this rather unpleasant state of the international forums, what with all the complaints, evident polls and such? You see, i'm really worried about the dofus we all loved, instead of looking forwards to new content. The economy is heading for a ruin with the overpowered strokens, PvP is nerfed more and more, old achievements are nerfed in more than every second update. Most players play dofus for the PvM and not PvP and really aren't pleased by ankama's new focus on PvP. I, for one, would have certainly not started playing dofus if it has always been such a PvP fest, there are enough MMORPGs like this already, i liked the old dofus with its focus on PvM, but i'm afraid the developers might not hear the people crying. Thank you for your time. We really appreciate it. |

Is there any plan in the infrastructure team to open a pay-to-play-only international server? (edit: intention is, the hope for fewer kama sellers and addressing more mature players)

Hi all, considering the huge number of questions you've been asking, it is just impossible for me, given the few time that I have, to answer them all.
A lot of them are related to game design, and the questions starting by "why" wont necessarily end, even if I answer them all, since every answer might lead to another question. What is for sure is that we are perfectly aware that we failed, this time, in communicating with you. We will try to take the appropriate mesures to change this. A new Community Manager will arrive asap. The translators do their best so that you can read, in english, the coming changes (asap as well). To the EN mods: sorry, I didn't have time to read all your messages this week, I will try to be more available next week. We'll talk about this in the private section. |

"community manager" there should be more than 1 for the whole english community dont you think? at least 3.. theres a crapload of us out here who want answers.. or just to know our rants, problems and questions are even being read and not totally ignored. |
