A Walk in the Dark II
This RP is based on an old 2007 RP by mariemonster. It got up to 12 pages long before it died then and it was a lot of fun while it lasted. I'll use the exact same premise as the old thread but the characters and plot should end up being different. Basically we are confined to a cave at least for now (if I remember correctly, they never got out in the old thread). So let's do it!
It has been raining in the upper Cania for the past few weeks. While Bonta is fortunate enough to afford a sewer system that reduces flooding in its streets, the area you have been stuck in for the past few days has no river. The closest lake, even, is still quite a few miles away. You were only on a hunting trip for pieces of blop to sell off to the scavengers in Astrub, but now it seems as if you've gotten yourself into some trouble... You are fortunate enough, however, to find a cave situated inside of a rather steep hill; you climb for an hour and manage to barely make it there. It is dark and there is no evidence of any gems or stones embedded in the walls to pick out; the walls themselves, even, are thick enough to withstand a pick, axe, or any other weapon that would strike it. A makeshift campfire sits towards the mouth, a rock situated as a chair.. and what looks like the decomposing remains of some poor Iop in the corner. His face looks as if he were awfully surprised at what he last saw. Ignoring the body, you're able to camp a few days without any problems--eating the blop isn't the best meal, but soon you run out of that and wonder what you'll eat next. The rain hasn't stopped and the floodwaters are rising. You can't go back out because you can't swim. You go to sleep on the opposite side of the mouth as the Iop; the first thing you see in the morning is that his position has changed. His blank eyes stare into yours, and his arm, which originally reached out to the center of the room, now points to the area past the mouth. None of your other belongings have been touched. Who could have done this, you wonder as you shoulder your bags. No matter. This decision was inevitable. You currently stand facing inward from the cave's entrance. Somewhere, you hope, beyond the unknown twists and turns, lies an exit. The cave is extremely dark; unaided, you can only see up to four feet in front of you. There is a rank smell emitting from within (aside from the corpse). As you lean in towards the darkness, you can hear a faint scratching... It's time to go. |

Name: Ickwok
Class: Cra Age: 20 Ickwok did not want to go further into the cave. The things he had seen just at the entrance were enough to make the fiercest boowolf hide in a corner like a young black gobbly. There was no option though, he had to go in. Ickwok walked through the opening. He could hear faint sounds. It was hard to tell what they were exactly, but everytime he heard them he flinched. Ickwok came to the first room since the opening. It was a large cavern. The roof of the cave was not visible. There seemed to be 3 different tunnels splitting off from this room. The tunnel on the left looked to have a faint glow emminating from it. The tunnel directly ahead on him, upon closer examination had strange symbols Ickwok couldn't read above the entrance. The tunnel to the right looked normal but as Ickwok approached it he distinctly heard the sound of rushing water. What to do. Ickwok thought about it for a minute, but he couldn't stand to stay in one place for too long. He was too afraid someone...something....would find him. He set off down the left tunnel. OOC: sorry about double posting
We were hunting for a week, and not a single monster showed up. 3 cras, shuffled behind me. "It was a waste of time coming here," I said, "Let us return to the camp." I saw a small Osa, Shapdoak(Oak-sha as in Shamen- ped) sprinted of to me. He sprinted like a girl, and yet was a male. "O-o-oak-oak," stuttered, Shapdoak, "Out with it boy!" I snapped "Our heard was stolen," finished Shapdoak. "Damn It." I scearmed, "DAMN IT ALL, DAMN YOU ALL TO HECK! OAKLEADER WILL HAVE OUR HEADS!" "Im sorry..." whimpered Shapdoak. I aimed my bow and realised my team took my arrows to pervent me from killing the kid. Instead a lifted my fist... "Whole!" shouted Oakland, (one of the cras), The cras held me back. "I KILL YOU BOY!" I scream, "LET ME KILL- hold on I thought of an Idea." The Cras let go of me, and sighed. Suddenly I saw that the plains had flooded, so we rested at a nearby cave |

OOC: I liked A Walk in the Dark. I wondered how it was going to end, and I sort of wanted to post in it.
Name: Mikromela Class: Sram, female Age: mid 20s Details: Loves magic tricks, often using slight-of-hand to distract others, but never uses it to steal. Mik uses daggers for close up work, or a bow for a distance, often in combination with poison. She wears a black scaraleaf set, perfect for blending in with the shadows. Mik was wandering about the Cania Plains, keeping her distance from the blops, when it started flooding. She kept to the high land for as long as possible, but the water kept rising. She wasn't worried about herself, of course, because her aerdala getas kept her above the water, but her arachnee was struggling with the rain. Keeping an eye out for a place to hide, she saw a dark cave. Darkness is her natural habitat. Of course she went into the cave. She didn't go very far, but all of a sudden she couldn't find her way back out. When she tried to retrace her steps, she found herself in a large cavern, with three tunnels leading out of it. The left tunnel seemed to have a glow, but it didn't look like anything she had seen in all the caves she had lurked in before. The middle tunnel had strange symbols above it, that felt like a warning. The right tunnel seemed most welcoming, but when she went closer, she could clearly hear running water. She had a bad feeling that that tunnel was flooding. "What do you think?" she asked her arachnee. The arachnee shivered, than extended one leg and pointed to the left hand tunnel. "It's the best of a bad lot," Mik mused, "but I have to agree with you." She went down the left tunnel. As she padded along silently, she thought she could hear footsteps ahead. As she peered around a bend in the tunnel, she saw a nervous looking Cra, jumping at every drop of water that fell from the ceiling. Mik decided to shadow him, in case he knew of a way out. |

Ickwok walked down the tunnel. The walls of the tunnel seemed to be what was eminating the faint glow. It was almost a red color. Ickwok didn't know if it was just because he was wearing red or for some different strange reason. There were no sounds in the tunnel save the constent drips of water. Ickwok rounded a bend in the tunnel and his face ran directly into an arachnee web. Ickwok, being as nervous as he was, let out a little yelp, and for some reason, started to run down the tunnel, all the time clawing at his face.
Ickwok finally got the remains of the web off of his face. He looked around. He found himself standing in front of a small campfire. Around him was a group of surprised looking Goblins eating gobball legs. One of the goblins dropped his gobball leg and let out a war cry. Ickwok started running back the way he came in, followed a second later by the Goblin camp. Ickwok ran back the way he thought he came. He wasn't really sure because of his little incident with the arachnee web. Ickwok turned a corner and ran into someone. Both went down to the ground. Ickwok turned over onto his back and found a Sramette looking down at him. This post has been edited by ObviousAgent: 28 Sep 2009, 20:35 |

We surived on blop for the next few days, but the rain did not settle.
"Wh-what... nevermind," said Shapdoak "Go on spit it out, boy." I snapped. "What now!?!" Asked Shapdoak loudly and quickly. "We can't go back," I answered, "The plains are like an Ocean, we have no choice, but to search for food, within the cave. The five of us, entered the cave catiously. The cave became dark, I lit a touch. We continued hoping we'd find any source of food. Shapdoak, tried to speak, but I covered his mouth, not letting him make a noise. Something desturbed me about this cave, it wasn't the strange creeking noise, or any distinishing features. I didn't want to continue, I starting feeling sweat over my face, "Lets go back," I decided, I sprinted, back, my followers had trouble keeping up. I found no exit, I starting panicing, my heart pounded, I screamed, then suddenly, I had brainwave, "Men, its time to sacifices your arrows, we're going to use them as shovels..." |

Mik looked down at the Cra. He was dressed in red, and seemed to be even more terrified than he had been before. He had some scraps of arachnee web on his face. The little arachnee that went with her everywhere climbed off her shoulder, and started to clean the remains of web off his face. He jumped, and scrabbled away towards the wall.
"Hey there," Mik said softly. "I won't hurt you. My name's Mik. What's yours?" |

Ickwok looked up at the Sram and said, "Ickwok. My name's Ickwok. But now's not the time to talk. We need to get out of here!"
Ickwok got up off the cold cave floor. From the tunnel behind Ickwok came the cry of a Goblin. "They're getting closer!" |

We tunneled for a long time but it seemed to lead us no where. Finaly the tunnel callapsed, Shapdoak blew his goblin, call. The five of us fell, and landed on a Sram and a Cra.
"Errrgah!" The Tunnel only lead us to another part of this forsaken cave!" I screcched in horror... |

The Cra, Ickwok, he said his name was, was running. Mik could hear Goblins coming from the direction they had been heading, but they were running back the way they had come. Without hesitating, she pulled some small bombs from her belt, and threw them down the tunnel behind them. When the first goblin drew near, the bomb exploded, bringing down some of the tunnel, forcing the goblins to clear a path before continuing to chase them. However, in a situation like this, there would always be more goblins somewhere.
There were noises coming from all directions as they ran. From up ahead, they sounded like... no, they couldn't be... people talking?! |

Name: Koraz
Class: Ecaflip Age: 19 Name: Okaam Class: Feca Age: 57 (Blind, but has much better hearing than normal.) Koraz shivered in the rain. He hated water. It made his fur soaked and heavy, not to mention he couldn't swim. Looking for the nearest shelter from the flood, Koraz ran into the cave. Looking to his side, he noticed an Iop, dead in the corner of the cave. Thinking fast, Koraz searched the body for anything worth stealing. Finding nothing, he tore some of his shirt off to keep dry. "Pitiful." A voice said, startling Koraz. "What? Where are you?" "Here, boy. That Iop. I put him in the corner there, because it was the closest to a respectful burial I could give him. And then you come and search his body, disrespecting him." "So? He's dead. Really, I don't think his body cares." "Stupid child. I tripped over that Iop when I was searching for shelter from the pounding rain. I fell, and only then did I realize the floor was stone. To further check if this was a cave, I slammed my staff into the ground, and, sure enough, I heard an echo. If it weren't for that Iop, I might not be alive." "What, are you blind or something? Maybe it would've been better if you never found that Iop..." Koraz said, muttering the second part to himself. "Respect your elders! And yes, I am blind." "O-oh. Sorry." He said, feeling bad now. "You'd better be. Now listen close...so far, I've heard about 5 or 6 people pass through here. I believe they all took the same path. Find them." "Ok...thanks for the info." "Im coming with you." "What?!?" Koraz didn't like the idea of having an old, blind burden following him. Nevertheless, he set off, the Feca always close behind him. Soon, he came to what seemed to be a cave-in, with a few splattered goblins. "What the hell...?" Koraz said, staring at the blockade. |

A large group of people had landed on Ickwok and Mik as they ran from the goblins. A Cra shouted that the tunnel only led to another part of the cave, then a blue-robed Xelor appeared out of nowhere, as Xelors often do.
"Hi," he said. "My name's Vedaros, and I'm lost. Can you help me?" "I'm lost too," Mik complained, "and I can find my way in any cave there is. I think there is magic in this cave." |

"I'm lost too, and I can't find my way in any cave there is. I think there's magic in this cave." replied the Sram girl. Stuck here with a clan of people all named Oak and that nice Sram and red Cra, I weighed my options. "Okay, let's go." I said. We set off, trudging to who knows where.

Ickwok looked back and forth at the people introducing themselves. It got louder and louder as more and more of them started to talk. Ickwok yelled, "Guys, there are Goblins headed this way! I suggest we all shut up and prepare for battle if we have any plans of getting out of here."
Again, a Goblin war cry could be heard near by. |

Ickwok told us to prepare for a Goblin attack on the way, and in my head, I agreed. Footsteps marched our way as the others readied their weapons and magic. I shivered nervously and brought up a clock hand vibrating with me. Closer...closer...closer...BOOM! I lost my control of the Hand and readied another
one as the Oaktrees shot into the crowd. It was a full-scale battle, and we fought like wounded Sacriers, drunken Pandawas, lumberjacks with bad axes, or whatever you want to compare us to. The fight was on! This post has been edited by DWKmaster: 4 Oct 2009, 01:36 |

I squealed like a girl, and put my hands to cover my ears. A goblin stabbed me, luckily, it hit only hit a rib. I used my arrow has a sword, and killed the goblin,
"Oaktrees retreat!" I scream, making for the end of the tunnel. Only Shapdoak, and an Oaktree Cra name Oaktrew(Oak-threw) followed, the rest, we somewhere in the madness. We weren't far back, and there wasn't much room, I ached to use burning arrow, but in fear of hitting my allies, I used puntive arrow. I wish I was str. Oaktrew, however, didn't think about his allies, and went right away and used burning arrow. "Idiot," I cursed... |

Mik had summoned her double, to try and keep the goblins away from the only other sane beings she had met in this cave, and was horrified to see her double burst into flames. Only a Cra or a Feca could have done such damage... However, it did badly wound quite a number of the goblins.
A goblin, about to stab Vedaros from behind, was suddenly knocked off his feet by an arrow, then killed by a strange chafer that had just appeared. Mik pulled a bow from apparently nowhere, a fired an arrow at a charging goblin. The arrow made a strange whistling sound, but the goblin was too stupid to be frightened of a simple noise. The arrow slowed it down enough for Mik to snatch a stone from the floor and brain the goblin with it. How many more goblins are there? she thought. |

Oh f*ck oh no oh no augh I'm getting stabbed yay it's gone kill kill kill. That rushed through my head as I swung my elongated Hand like a sword, the serrated edge cutting into a nearby Chafer. Whistling filled the air as Mik shot some sort of sonic arrow at the goblin and brained him with a rock. I took his head, sliced it off, and--Grah!--found it was too heavy. Ah well. Bowling time! I knocked down three goblins, than another. Spare, and then my head rolled down the tunnel. Havoc was everywhere as a nearby bandit around my age shot into the crowd. Ready, aim, fire, dead goblin, repeat. Most of the Oaktrees clumped into a deadly projectile force, killing all within a 3-meter radius. The tide was in our favor, and victory was in sight.

Ickwok was caught up in the middle of the madness. Not a very good place for a Cra. He pulled a small dagger from his belt and tried to protect himself as best he could. The Goblins seemed to be falling like flies, but they had no fear whatsoever. They charged in, did damage, and died.
Finally after several minutes of intense fighting, no more Goblins came down the tunnel. The battle was going to be won! Just then Ickwok took a stab to the arm. He turned as the Xelor killed the Goblin. Three Goblins remained. Two were shot down by the Cras who had managed to get out of the chaos. The last remaining creature was killed by the Sram. It was over. Ickwok sat down against the cave wall. He looked over the group of travelers who were in the same situation as himself. Most were injured in some way. Ickwok just hoped that this fighting business was not going to become a regular occurance. |

I breathed hard, all of my oaktrees... dead. Only annoying Shapdoak, and Oaktrew, remained.
"I wish Oakbread was with us," I muttered, too myself. So many injured, no Bread holder with them (only Oakbreads can hold bread in the world of Oaktrees) I sighed, drinking my last healing potion. "Tell me did* we wiped this cave of goblins, and there are none more left!" I cursed, "TELL ME!" This post has been edited by simomate: 5 Oct 2009, 09:04 |

Mik looked around, then cast a spell which let her see even further.
"I can't see any more goblins," she said, "but there could be some in other tunnels." She went over to the camouflaged Cra. "Would you like a roasted gobball leg? It has healing properties." (OOC:@DWK, I think you misheard me in an earlier post. You said I couldn't find my way in any cave. I said I could. Okaam and Koraz stood on the other side of the blockade, wide eyed (Or at least, one of them.). Sounds of fighting suddenly erupted from the other side, and, as sudden as it came, left. "What in hell...?" Koraz muttered.
"I'm thinking the same thing..." Okaam said. "Well...how do we get across this blockade?" Okaam smirked. "Most Fecas can only teleport themselves to a specific location. But me, I can teleport up to 2 people safely... It's a skill not many Fecas have. Now, when we get to 3 people, we might not end up where we want to... Anyways, grab on to my staff." Koraz did as instructed, and in a moment...nothing happened. Or so it appeared. "Oh, nice magic trick Feca, but now isn't the time. This is the same place we were just at." Okaam reached out his hand to touch the blockade."No it isn't boy. we're on the other side of the blockade... now lets keep going, shall we?" The two set off, walking forward. Vedaros sat on the ground, resting after the battle with the goblins. In the distance, he heard footsteps. "Hey...Oak-whatever...hear that? That better not be more goblins..." "Oh Jewbus, I'm down too my last $*#(ing arrow..and now that you mention it, I hear them too." Oak replied. "No joke. Hey, Ickwock...fire an explosive arrow in that way." Ickwock sighed, hoping they wouldn't have to fight, and fired an arrow into the darkness. Soon enough, they heard an explosion, screaming, and stones crumbling. "WHAT THE HELL?!?" He heard in the distance. "Uh...guys...I don't think those are goblins." Ickwock said, lowering his bow. (OOC: Hope I didn't misuse anyone's characters.) Mik peered into the darkness. "It's an Ecaflip and a blind Feca," she announced.
"How can you tell?" asked the camouflaged Cra, whose name seemed to be Oaksand. "I'm a Sram's Shadow, I can see in the dark." "I meant, how can you tell he's blind?" "Only a Feca who is blind would walk in the dark as though he could see." "Very perceptive of you," the Feca said as he approached. The Ecaflip cautiously following him had slightly singed fur, and blinked rapidly as he tried to clear the afterimages from his eyes. The Feca did not have a mark on him. "Who shot at us?" the Ecaflip complained. |

OOC: A quick prequel, 50 years previous
Character: Seff Class: Xelor Age: Unknown (with some Xelors you just can't tell) History: Seff was a member of the fabled Amakna Monks (a rival group the the other Xelor monastery, the Amakna Mages). As a child, he was a prodigy, fighting dopples 40, 60, even 80 levels higher than him. He was however, a troubled child. When but an infant, he was unable to control his powers, and was separated from his parents by both space and time. Thus, his original origins are unknown. What is known is that he was taken in by Allune, the head of the Amakna Monks at that time, and was manipulated and trained to fight in war. It was during the greatest clash between the Monks and the Mages that Seff came to his potential. What was meant to be a simple haziness cast upon the battleground ended up stopping time completely for them, and propelling Seff into the future. It was then that Seff finally could live has he wanted, and could make a name for himself... For years, Seff traveled alone, fighting and living off of blops (the poor creatures were so susceptible to temporal changes, they didn't stand a chance). It was on this journey that he met an Iop, only 18 years of age, who was living more like a hermit Enutrof than than one of the mighty members of the Iop class. He was taking refuge at the mouth of a deep cave when Seff stumbled across him. There had been a mudslide there earlier, and Seff was curious to see its results. What he found was the trapped Iop Murdak, and on the Iop's face was a look of pain mixed with a glint of hope. It was plane to see from his expression, Seff was a welcome sight. "You there, are you... a Xelor? Come, come, let me give you some food, you look travel worn." Murdak said. Seff stared at the Iop curiously for a moment before walking towards him silently. "You wouldn't happen to be... a fortune teller... would you?" Seff stopped, and understood. "You're uncertain of your fate I take it?" "Yes... I can give you some food, if you can tell me... will I ever leave this wretched cave?" "No, you don't need to pay me.." Seff moved closer to the Iop and held his hand. "It's been a long time since I've spoken to anyone..." "But Murdak... I am afraid to say... you don't want to know your future." Murdak's eyes widened "I knew it, I'm going to die here aren't I, am I going to starve? Won't I ever see my brother again!?!" Seff gave a sigh. He had said too much. It really had been a while since he had spoken to anyone. "It is best you do not try to change the future... but yes, you will die. One day, for reasons of your own, you will venture deep in to that cave, and you will lose your way. You will die within its confines, but not before seeing the light of an exit. It will be a tragic death..." Upon hearing this, Murdak lost his temper, and his eyes shown furiously with both anger and a passion for life. "That's horrible! How can you tell me not to change such a horrible fate!" Seff turned away from the Iop and began walking away, but spoke before he was out of earshot. "By your death, many shall be saved. You have a choice. Leave here, and search for your brother, and possibly save his life. Or stay, and save the lives of many... though they shall be strangers. How strong are your morals young Iop? I wonder..." And with that, Seff disappeared within the blink of an eye. How strange and ironic it is, that a mere corpse can change fate and save lives... OOC: The prequel, part 2 of 3
Character: Murdak Class: Iop Age: 18 History: Born of the terrible Iop clan "Ruthless", His childhood was spent longing to escape from his oppressive and vile clansmen. On the day his mother died, he got his chance, and took his brother with. On the run (for they knew things no outsider should ever learn) they made there way north to Astrub, then west through the Cania Plains. It was on one stormy eve, with the yells of pursuers still close behind, that a mudslide separated Murdak from his younger brother Suikide. Murdak was forced to take refuge outside a cave until the relentless rain let up, but he had no idea where his brother had gone. Making things worse, another rock slide had enclosed the cave inlet, and he was trapped. It was when the rain let up that a wandering Xelor came by, and Murdak was forced to choose a fate for himself, his brother, and others who he could not know. Seff disappeared, leaving Murdak stunned. "I never even learned his name... can I even trust what he said?" Everything was so confusing. He just wanted to know where his brother was, if he was safe... if the clan had captured him. "I have to find him" Murdak spoke to himself, reaffirming his decision to forget the Xelor's words. "I just have to..." But then, something strange happened. He heard a voice~ "Brother...?" it was faint and full of a soft echoed vibe. "Are... you there...?" "Brother!" Where was it coming from? Murdak was sure the voice was his brother's. Then he turned... and he knew. It was coming from the cave! It was then that the Xelor's words returned to his mind "For reasons of your own, you will venture deep in to that cave, and you will lose your way. You will die within its confines, but not before seeing the light of an exit." Murdak shook away the thought. "This can't be what he meant" Building up his courage, He quickly took step into the cave, following the traces of faint echoes~ The cave was deep, and it got dark quickly. In the air hung a musty smell, like the wet coat of a Mufafah... and Indeed, everything seemed damp. The calls had stopped, so Murdak returned them: "Suikiiiiiiide!", "Suikiiiide, where are yooou?!" ...but there was no answer. For days Murdak traveled in the cave, weary and hungry. But never did he hear the sound of his brother's voice again. Once, he had mistaken the rushing of water for a call for help... but it was simply a forsaken Iop's delusion. When at least he had reached the end of the cave, after traveling in circles countless times, and he saw the light of an exit, he knew he would never find his brother. Hunger had stolen both his strength and his passion for life, and he collapsed where he stood. |

"A bandit Archer?" I asked, "They are dirty little theives! I remember when they stole my apple Pie! You must not trust them, they offer help, but the momment you turn your back, WHAM! They are gone, with all your money! or... you are lying in a pool of your own Blood. He may have helped us, but I believe me, you don't want to know what he would have in plan..."

"Hi, Koraz, Okaam, I'm Mikromela," Mik said to the newcomers. Turning to Oaksand, she continued, "What's wrong with Bandit Archers? They may steal a bit, and be a little treacherous, but they aren't as bad as some Srams I've met. I've met Srams who will turn on you while you are fighting for your life." She shuddered. "To get away from them, you either have to be worse than they are, or good at running. Bandits can generally be bribed."

"Hmph, if we do find the archer, and you do trust him, then I will leave you when that time comes, now lets move" I said, lighting up a tourch. The group continued down the cave, we heard more noises, but they weren't goblins. Now that we were closer, I reconised the noise.
"Oh sh!tt... EVERYONE ONE, BACK AWAY!" I screamed. Suddenly great tenticles, shot out from the ground, callapsing the ground. We fell in water. I saw vardeos, grabbed by one of the tenticles. I struggled to stay a float, I couldn't swim... |

"A Kralove!" Mik automatically turned invisible, and dove under water. Opening her eyes, she could see the Feca, Okaam, safely inside a bubble of air, holding Koraz with one hand, while fighting off a tentacle with the staff he held in his other hand. Vedaros seemed to be covered with magical mirrors, and he was stabbing the tentacle that held him with an outsized clock hand. The Osamodas, Shapdoak, was holding on to a buoyant Prespic summon, and helping the other Oak Cra to keep his head above water. Oaksand was struggling under water, obviously unable to swim, while fending off a tentacle with his bow. Before he sank to the bottom, however, a strange Chafer walked under him, letting the Cra stand on the skeleton's shoulders. Looking more closely, Mik could tell that it was no ordinary Chafer, but a Bone Idol. That meant... that the Bandit Archer had to be nearby.

OOC: So that's what the purple disks for Counter are! I've always wondered. . .
I Countered myself by instinct and started Handing the kralove as much as I could. Others were in similar states with Shapdoak and Oaksand helping eachother with a tentacle, and Koraz and Okaam encased in a bubble. We couldn't go on for long like this. Had we met our match? And what was that Bone Idol doing here? |

Ickwok thrashed around in the churning waves for what seemed like forever. From within the waves he could hear yelling and the sounds of conflict. What could be going on this time? Most of the travelers were still recovering from the Goblin raid.
Ickwok got above the waves and looked around. He was very thankful for the two and a half years he had spent serving a deckhand on the Royal Amaknian Galleon, which in all honesty is just a glorified cruise ship. Ickwok truly thought he would be dead right now if he hadn't spent so much time at sea. Ickwok turned around in the water and saw it. A giant Kralove, tentacles thrashing, was attempting to make a meal of the weary travelers he had come to be a part of. Ickwok looked around for land. Ickwok cast Eagle Eye and finally saw it. Over in the corner of the room there was a small ledge of land. There also seemed to be a tunnel leading from that ledge. Ickwok swam as fast as he could towards the land. Once he got there he pulled himself up. Luckily, Ickwok's bow wasn't too badly damaged from the fall or the water. He unleashed an Explosive Arrow towards the head of the thrashing sea monster. |

(OOC: Whoops! I forgot Ickwok in my synopsis... Good thing he didn't get eaten by the Kralove while I wasn't looking!
@DWKmaster: The mirrors were more for the effect, i.e., reflection. But now that you mention it... Wow! Counter is just magic purple mirrors! But it's Shapdoak and Oaktrew who are with the Prespic. Oaksand is standing on the Bone Idol's shoulders (shoulder bones?). ) Mik saw the explosive arrow coming through the air. Time seemed to slow for her as she swiftly assessed the situation. It was obviously aimed at the Kralove, but who else who be affected when it detonated? Okaam and Koraz would be safe in the Feca's shields, Oaksand was safely drowning underwater, but being carried to land by the Bone Idol. Shapdoak and the other Oak Cra were out of range, fighting a far flung tentacle while clinging to a floating Prespic. Ickwok was safely on land, but where was Vedaros? The Xelor was trapped in the embrace of a Kralove tentacle. He had almost severed the tentacle with his clock hand, and his magic mirrors would reflect some of the damage. However, if they reflected too much damage, the rebounded explosion could kill Ickwok. There was only one thing to do. Lightning fast, the still-invisible Mik was next to Vedaros. Casting a spell known as Fear, she repelled Vedaros out of the blast radius, just as the bomb hit. (OOC: I'm going to be a slightly charred mess, but still barely alive. My arachnee's in my helmet, the poor thing. ) |

The Explosive Arrow was about to hit the Kralove when it turned toward Ickwok. That was when he saw his fatal mistake. Trapped within one of the many tentacles of the Kralove was the Xelor, Vedaros. Boom! Perfect shot for Ickwok, but he saw the Xelor go flying. The Xelor seemed to have minimal damage though. When the smoke cleared, Ickwok saw another body in the Kralove's embrace. It was badly burned from the look of it.
Ickwok fell to his knees. He couldn't believe what he had just done. |

From the bone idol, I had my shares of shots. We were a great team. Unfortunatly it was Ickwok who finished the Kralove off. When the bone idol brought me back to shore, I blew it up. There was no way, I would have any connection with the bandit arrow.
"Hey Oaksand! YOUR ALIVE!" Screamed Shapdoak, he threw the last tourch into the water, so he could bear hug me." As a result the tourch went out. Now it was pitch black, they could see nothing! (Hence the name Walk in the Dark) "Shapdoak..." I growlled trying to keep myself from exploding. "Ye-yes Sand?" "AGRAHHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" |

Ickwok got up. The Kralove was sinking into the water. The Burned figure was still locked up with the giant creature. Ickwok could only think of one thing to do. He dove into the water and started swimming toward the sinking monster and whoever the burned adventurer was.

"Calm down, Calm down..." Okaam said, climbing out of the water. Koraz was not with him, however. His nobility outweighed his hate of water, and he dived in. Of course, to save his comrades was not his only intention; He planned on keeping a kralove tentacle as a souvenir, as he had heard they fetched a high price. So, cutting off the tentacle that held the burned adventurer with his dagger, he shoved the tentacle into his pocket and put his empty canteen into the burned adventurer's pocket to provide extra buoyancy and float his friend up faster. How Koraz managed to do this with one breath is a mystery even he cannot solve.

Ickwok reached the burned figure right as Koraz was bringing them up to the surface. Once above the water, Ickwok identified the figure as Mik, the Sram he had run into before the Goblin fight. Ickwok heard rustling inside of the Sram's helmet. He took it off of her head, looked inside, and found the Arachnee that always seemed to be with her. It didn't look too badly injured. The helmet must have protected it.
Ickwok and Koraz helped Mik over to the ledge of land near the tunnel. Hopefully Mik woud wake up soon. |

Everything went black as the bomb hit. There was a burning sensation all over her skin. It felt familiar, like tiny spider bites...
...There were spiders crawling over Mik's skin. She was back in Aria Knofob's attic, covered in Arachnees and Arachnids. Every part of her exposed skin burnt with bites. The spiders fell away and vanished as the poisoned dart she had shot at their summoner took effect. She snatched up the final Arachnid's body, and hacked off one leg. She took the leg back down the stairs, and gave it to Aria. "Oh, thanks a lot!" Aria exclaimed. "Here you are, a magic scroll I found in the attic when I moved in, I am sure you'll find a use for it." Mik examined the scroll. It was obviously a fake, but it seemed to have some minor magic powers. She thanked Aria, and left, perusing the scroll in depth. It began, "Howe to summon an Arakne"... ...She remembered when she had captured the Arachnee. She had found it, wandering alone in Tainela. She had charmed it to her, using the spell in the scroll, then looked after it, feeding it and caring for it, until it followed her of it's own accord. The spell still linked them, and she could feel it's pain whenever it was injured... ...The Arachnee was in pain. Everything was still black, but now she was certain her eyes were open. She wasn't in the water anymore. She coughed up a lungful of water, and brushed some ash out of her eyes. Then she realised it was her eyelashes. It was no wonder she was in pain. Her back was badly charred, but her Black Scaraleaf gear had probably saved her life, even though it wasn't fire proof. Going by what little she could now see, it hadn't even changed color. Although, in the dark, everything is black. |

"I have an idea.." Okaam said, stopping. "Perhaps my shields can provide some light." Without waiting for approval from the group, he used his Glowing shield. It provided a light, but a small one. They could see maybe 7, 8 meters ahead. Of course, being blind, Okaam hadn't the slightest clue how far the light went, so he waited for a response from the group.

Mik was feeling dreadful. Her arachnee had a damaged leg which would take some time to heal, she'd lost her eyelashes and eyebrows, she was covered in Kralove ashes, and had some nasty burns. Still, it could be worse. Now, the Feca, Okaam, had cast his Glowing Armor to provide light for the others. Mik could already see well enough without the additional light, but it was a welcome relief to be able to see colors, instead of the monochrome images that she normally saw in the dark. She thanked the Feca profusely as they continued down the interminably long tunnel.

"Thank-you, Oakaam," I said finaly calming down. I had scares all over my body, for the first time in my life as an Oaktree, I felt a sense of dispare.
"Listen people," I said, "There are no doubt, more goblins in this cave, probably creatues of a worest kind. I may seem like someone who doesn't know how to work as a team, but let me tell you, how could I be an Oaktree leader, lead my men to victory countless times, earn medals of Valour, and plenty of other stuff, without having leadership skills? Ickwok looked at Oaksand. He knew that they were right. The group did need to be ready for the worst. Ickwok just hoped that they would have at least a little reprive before the next conflict. Ickwok finally said, "I don't know how we can prepare for anything else. Look at us! There are just seven of us here, and Mik is badly injured. What can we do besides to just keep trudging down this tunnel?"
At this Ickwok looked to each face in the group. He realized how hopeless the group looked. He sent up a quick prayer to whatever god could hear him in this horrible dark hole in the earth. |

Mik carefully nibbled at a roasted gobball leg as they walked onwards. The slight healing properties that she'd cooked into it strengthened her. Someone had said something about keeping the remains of the Bone Idol. What had happened to it? The last she had seen of it, it had been helping Oaksand out of the water. Maybe the Kralove had gotten it anyway, or it had gone back into the water and been hit by the blast. It didn't matter. There wasn't mush point keeping the remains of a summon. It would return to it's master when called, no matter how far away. But where could the Bandit Archer be? He had to still be in the caves somewhere...
"Do you know where the Bandit Archer is?" Mik asked her arachnee. It shivered in a manner which she interpreted as "No", then blinked at her rapidly. In reply, Mik smiled, and sketched a lantern in her mind. With the aid of the spell Location, she looked through the walls. There was something moving behind the wall to their left, keeping pace with them. It seemed too tall to be a Goblin, but was it the Bandit? |

I shot an explosive arrow. I saw the glance of "you idiot," at me, but I ignored them. I didn't aim at the bandit, I shot a few centimetres away, so I could light up his area. Sure enough it was the bandit. "You-you sent the Bone idol to help me, aye? Listen erh I think we got off on the wrong side of the foot, please can you help us?" |

The Bandit Archer wasn't harmed by the proximity of the explosion. He seemed to be covered by a magical skin, which Mik had seen Bandit Archers use before. It was some sort of shield spell, called Tiptowe. He stared at them, and noticed the remains of the Bone Idol, that Oaksand was carrying. With a wave of his wand, the remains appeared near him, and reassembled themselves into the Bone Idol. Another wave, and it vanished. "Help?" he said. He didn't seem to know the meaning of the word. He looked more closely at Vedaros, and appeared to frown, although it is hard to tell with Bandits. He seemed to come to a decision. "I'm Mathpip," he said. "I will help." Okaam led the way, his Glowing Armor helping all the others to see. Koraz walked next to him, to prove his bravery. Mathpip and Vedaros followed behind, talking softly. Oaksand was next, trying very obviously to not offend the Bandit in anyway. Oaktrew and Shapdoak followed directly behind him, prepared to fight or dig, whatever was required. Ickwok and Mik brought up the rear, Mik limping along, with Ickwok, still feeling guilty, supporting her. Okaam stopped suddenly. "Koraz, the air here feels different. What do you see?" Koraz looked around. "It's an intersection. This tunnel splits into two, one to the right and one to the left." "Don't go down the right tunnel," Mik called weakly. "I can hear water that way." "I can hear it also," Okaam replied. "So, is it agreed? Do we go left?" |

The group headed down the left tunnel. The light from Okaam's shields was still helpful but the cave seemed to be getting darker if that was possible. They walked a bit further when they came to a dead end. "Great, what do we do now?" asked Ickwok. No one seemed to know what to do. Ickwok looked around as best he could in the dark cavern. "Let's see if we can find anything," Ickwok said. The group started looking for something, anything that could lead them further into the tunnel, and hopefully to the surface eventually. Vedaros was brushing at the base of the wall when he seemed to find something. Ickwok walked over to him. Down where he was brushing away the dirt, there was an odd symbol just like in the first cavern with the three tunnels. "Does anyone know how to read these runes?" asked Ickwok. |

Uh-oh. No light. I called back to the Oaktrees. "Light some Burning Arrows that we can use for torches!" Soon we had a nice flame going up from the guild's arrows. Walking on, we came across a huge expanse of lava. "We can't cross that! We're stuck on this side unless we can make ourselves impervious to heat!" I thought and thought. "Try freezing it." A Cra shot a Frozen Arrow into the lake, but the ice melted. Now what? I thought. Okaam would be good, and his armor has AoE. "I'm not sure if this will work, but crowd around Okaam! Okaam, cast Glowing Armor on us!" We circled around the old Feca as he raised his arms. Golden light encircled us and formed into plates of magical armor. "Now, let's try swimming across!" |

Even with some of the magical protection from Glowing Armor, the lava lake was still quite hot. Mik didn't want to risk coming so close to fire again when she was still injured. Her little arachnee could tell what she was about to ask, having been in similar situations before, and had begun spinning a long rope of silk. Mik lightly tossed the arachnee towards the ceiling, where it attached the end of the silken rope, enabling Mik to swing across the lake of lava. Half way across, however, the rope detached from the ceiling, sending Mik plummeting towards the molten lava below...
She landed with a heavy thump and a sprained ankle on the rock floor. The lava was nowhere to be seen, and neither were the other adventurers. The only living creature in sight was her arachnee, and it was pitch black. |

This was by far the most insane thing Ickwok was ever asked to do. This was much worse than the time he was told to clean the restrooms on the Royal Amaknian Galleon after Taco Night. He shuddered thinking of that experience. Ickwok was a good swimmer, but lava was a whole new ballgame.
Mik had decided to swing across via arachnee silk, but Ickwok had heard the line snap and Mik was nowhere to be seen. The group emerged from the lava pit. Thankfully the Shields held up through the whole experience. Ickwok saw Mik nowhere. He had a very strong sense of responsibility about Mik. He needed to protect her because he had caused he so much pain. Ickwok called out, "Mik! Where are you?!" There was no answer. (OOC: Man, Mik just keeps getting into horrible situations doesn't she?) |

OOC: Most of all of us.
"MIK!" I yelled. "Da*n it. MIK! I'll check under." I set up a good web of Xelor-style defense, Dial, Counter, and Mummification just in case and tried jumping into the lava, preparing to die...Nothing. Nothing but falling. Quickly, I summoned a Dopple. "Tell them that if they jump straight in, it'll disappear." The Dopple scurried up the newfound igneous rock side and out of sight. Thump. I landed flat on my face in utter and complete darkness. Nothing else. Nothing. I heard scurrying, was that Mik's Arachnee? Worried, I called out again. "Mik! Mik, are you there?" |

Mik heard someone calling her name in the distance. With her eyes closed, and the spell Location cast, she walked towards the source of the noise... right into a wall. With bruises appearing on her left hand from where it had hit the wall, she felt her way along the wall, following the figure she could just see by using her spell. She soon found herself in a dead end. Turning around, still touching the wall, she found herself walking in circles. By stretching out both arms, she discovered she was somehow in a small circular room of rock, with no exit. It was also growing smaller.
(OOC: Well, it no-one gets into horrible situations, not much happens. Also, I have a couple of plans. ) |

I could see Mik in the distance, but she seemed to be feeling her way around an invisible barrier. I said several words a child my age should not have known and ran over. Feeling some sort of wall, I started hitting it with a clock hand. Nothing. The hand just broke, and Mik was acting like it was shrinking. I cursed again and yelled. "Mik! What's happening over there?"

This was impossible. There was no way she could have walked into this place. And where was this red light coming from?
Mik closed her eyes again, and looked around using Location. There was no wall at all. It was some sort of illusion. With her eyes still firmly closed, she stepped though the non-existent wall, and ran into someone. (OOC: How could you see me inside the invisible wall if it is pitch dark? However, the mysterious red light fixes all that, and fitted in with my plan. Now, I wonder what will happen next?) |

OOC: I had written a whole thing, but my internet died
In simple: Oaktrew said they should make themselves blind like the runes said. Oaksand disagred and said, that it meant, not to look in the monster's eye. Mik bumped into Vaderos, Vaderos screamed, because mik's clothes were ripped off, and she looked like a zombie. |

OOC: Hey guys, let's stop adding so many things one after another. Telling other RPers what has happened to their character can be very frustrating at times, especially when you make it very complicated. Making the "wall" an invisible barrier was enough. Mik doesn't need to be a zombie. Overall, I just don't want to see this thread die because too much plot was piled on top of each other all at once. So, I think we should disregard the whole zombie ordeal for now. Tell me what you think guys.

(OOC: I was burnt ages ago! I'm almost better now (I've been eating my cooked meat), but I sprained my ankle when I was teleported instead of falling into the lava and I bruised my left hand when I ran into a wall. If you want to do the zombie bit, it can't be about me and Vedaros, because we aren't with the rest of the group and you. Also, that "invisible wall" wasn't meant to exist anyway. It only being visible from the inside is perfectly fine. The only thing I was complaining about was that he could see me when it was dark. )
Mik let out a breath in relief, and helped Vedaros to his feet. "Either this cave hates us, or something within the cave hates us. Do you think it has something to do with this Old Religion Oaksand mentioned?" Mik replied. (OOC: Ok, Siomate, this gives you the perfect excuse to start doing more with this Old Religion. But you can only use people who are with you, and Vedaros' dopple. ) |

Is it too late if I add one now?
Doubley class:cra Sex:male Age:10 after I ran into the cave in the rain , I slept in it for the night. When I woke up,I flamed a burning arrow for light to see where I was. I found out that I was in a dark and murky cave with a tunnel. When I finally decided to take the tunnel,I found three entrances , so naturally , I cried out 'hello?Anyone there?' , and heard nothing but arrows whizzing around and screams.By the time I got there , I didn't find anyone there so I called out again,'Hello??' , and suddenly found myself being chased by goblins. Then I found myself in a fight , I noticed that 4 of them were perfectly lined up and so I did a burning arrow and so on... surviving on the bread in my backpack,I looked for people and said to myself 'Well , it could be worse...' P.S: What's OOC mean? |

OOC: Of course it's alright for you to join. You can either try to catch up with us or choose a different route. It's kind of up to you. Just try to keep it along the line that we have already established. Oh, and OOC means Out of Character. Use i when you want to talk to the other RPers, not their characters.
Ickwok didn't know what to do. Mik was nowhere to be found. And Vedaros seemed to be as well. Looking around was no use with the tiny bit of light they had. He was just frustrated at this point. He wanted to get out, but that seemed far off, if ever. There were two tunnels ahead of the group. The one on the right seemed to slope upward, while the one on the left downward. The right tunnel was the obvoius choice for going to the surface, but Ickwok started walking toward the left tunnel. He didn't say anything to the rest of the group. The left tunnel spiraled downwards. Ickwok didn't know if anyone had followed him down the tunnel, but frankly, he didn't care. He just wanted to save Mik and Vedaros, and he hoped this tunnel would take him there. OOC: Ok guys, I said the tunnel to the right sloped upward toward the surface, that doesn't mean it takes us directly there though. |

OOC: The old religion, I don't plan to encounter yet. We meet them at the near bottom of the cave.
"Maybe," was all I said. I sat down, and thought hard about our next move. "Where's Ickwok?" I asked, "Yeah where is he?" was Oaktrews answer, "Shapdoak is missing too!" "Who cares about that annoying brat! Ickwok, is the real person we should be looking for.". "Err lets move." This post has been edited by simomate: 26 Oct 2009, 06:22 |

(OOC: Siomate, you can't put me in your part of the cave, because I'm not. Ickwok left you to look for Mik and Vedaros, which is why he is missing. He went down the left hand tunnel, Vedaros and Mik were teleported somewhere else by the lava. I'm going to continue by assuming that the party is now split into 4 groups, the main one being Mathpip, Oaksand, Okaam, Koraz, Oaktrew and Vedaros' Dopple summon, another group being Ickwok and Shapdoak, the third group being Mikromela and Vedaros, with Doubley by himself being the fourth group. )
"I don't know anything about this Old Religion," Vedaros said as Mik helped him to his feet. "But I think we should get back to the others." "Agreed," Mik replied. Her arachnee was cowering inside her hat, so while Mik kept an eye out for dangers, Vedaros summoned a Homing Hand to find a path for them. All it did was run straight into a wall, stay there for a while, then explode, showering the floor with glass. Vedaros was about to summon a second Hand, when Mik stopped him. "Listen," she said. "Can you hear that?" In the distance, coming steadily closer, was the thudding sound of heavy footsteps. (OOC: Coming soon: What scares an arachnee?) |

OOC: Ah woops sorry. I'll edit it.
We pounded down, the tunnels, but before long, I called an Halt. "What is it?" sighed Oaktrew, "We need our eyes, but ANY sign of movement, close your eyes straight away. We can't risk, if this legacy is true. Alert us if you do see movement." 100metres later, "ARRGAH!" The bandit squealed, everyone closed their eyes. "Which direction!" I called. "Huh? Oh sorry, I just realised a rat had chewed through my bag." "RATS!" I realised we were standing in the middle of a massive gathering of rats! |

Koraz took a quick mental note of the direction Ickwock and Shapdoak headed, and as he was about to follow them, he stepped on something rather furry and squirmy, simultaneously hearing a rather loud cry of "RATS!". Rats. He knew well enough how to kill these quickly from experiences with large groups of gobblies and biblops and whatnot. In a few smooth, swift moves, he flipped up two coins and threw up a deck of cards into the air. The coins held the deck of cards floating in midair, spinning. In a few moments, the cards began to fly out of the deck at high speeds, each one killing a rat. Koraz extended his hands in a obviously practiced manner, and the two coins landed neatly in his palms. As for the cards, he picked them up and re-piled them, something he would not usually do. "Well, that's that then. Rats are gone!" Koraz said to the group grinning. Dropping his heavy bag off his shoulders, he took out the stone with the marking and handed it to Oaktrew. "You might need that. Ickwock could be in danger if he's by himself, so I'm off to look for him." Koraz took a step in the direction Ickwock headed, and then remembered something. He quickly selected two of the biggest rats from the pile and shoved them into his bag.
"...What?" he said as he noticed the disbelieving faces on the group's faces, save Okaam."I'm an Ecaflip, and rats are perfectly good food." Without waiting for any sort of response, he dropped to all fours and ran in the direction Ickwock had headed. "Ickwock! Where are you?" Koraz shouted into the pitch-black darkness. With no form of light to help him see, he had to feel his way through the path, and he knew perfectly well he was risking being lost forever in the case there was a fork in the road. (OOC: Siomate, you haven't edited it yet. Also, Oaksand is a male Cra, yes? Well, Mik is a female Sram. Unless he's against inter-class relations, what would he have to be disturbed by?)
Around the corner came something that looked like a giant Arachnee. It had enormous white fangs, and seemed to have a skull pattern on its back. It was surrounded by little reddish Arachnees - Major Arachnees. "It's a Sewer Keeper!" Mik gasped. "I've never actually seen one before!" "What's it doing here, then?" Vedaros asked. "This isn't exactly a sewer." The gargantuan beast loomed over them. Poison dripped from its fangs. Suddenly, without quite knowing why, they were running as fast as they could. They could hear the Major Arachnees skittering after them, with the thud-thud of the Sewer Keeper as it stormed towards them. They ran into the darkness, then suddenly the floor dropped out from under their feet. |

Ickwok trudged down the tunnel. It was slow going because of the lack of light. Every so often he would hit his head on a rock. This became a bit annoying after the first couple of times. He decided that if this were to continue he'd soon be just as intelligent as a Fire-based Iop. (OOC: Hehe...see what I did there?)
Ickwok heard what sounded like footsteps behind him. He figured that someone had decided to follow him. But why should he slow down for them to catch him? He decided to just keep going. As Ickwok went deeper and deeper into the earth it became hotter obviously, but he also noticed another trend. More and more arachnee webs were evident in the tunnel. Ickwok really hated arachnees. Mik's arachnee seemed okay, but he was still careful around it. Ever since he had first run into that web before the Goblin fight, he had kept a sharp eye out for webs. Who knows what would happen should he came face to face with another web? Ickwok rounded a corner in the tunnel to find that this whole section of the tunnel was a gigantic arachnee web. He stood there mouth agape for a second before slowly backing up the way he came. As he backed up he ran into something. It wasn't a wall though first of all because it wasn't hard, and second, walls don't say "oof" when you walk into them. Ickwok turned around to see Shapdoak looking at him. "Hi Ickwok," said Shapdoak quite loudly. "Shhhhhh!" warned Ickwok. "There's a gigantic web ahead. We don't want to draw any attention to ourselves," Ickwok whispered. Shapdoak seemed to turn ghostly white all of a sudden. "Ickwok...th-th-there's...." was all he said. He pointed behind Ickwok. Ickwok turned around to see the biggest arachnee he had ever seen in his life hulking in front of him. "Oh boy," was all he said before he started running in the direction he had come from. Mik landed heavily, her sprained ankle giving way under her. Vedaros landed lightly, and kept running. Mik pulled herself to her feet, but stayed where she was, lost in thought. Vedaros suddenly realised that Mik wasn't with him, and turned back.
"Come on!" he shouted. Mik just shook her head. "I've been thinking," she said. "What you said. This isn't a sewer. How could there be a Sewer Keeper here?" The Sewer Keeper dropped down the cliff, surrounded by Major Arachnees. Vedaros huddled next to the wall, almost paralyzed by fear. Mik was hard pressed to keep from running, but she stood her ground. Just as the Sewer Keeper stopped in front of her, and reared up to bite her head off, she drew a picture in the air. It looked rather like a face. The giant spider was gone, replaced by a tiny Arachnee. The Major Arachnees had vanished also. Vedaros stared. "Where did it go?" he gasped. "It was an illusion," Mik replied. She bent down and picked up the little Arachnee. "This is - ow! - a Peverse Arachnee." She sucked her finger where the Perverse Arachnee had bitten it. "I'm not scared now," she added thoughtfully. "Of course not!" Vedaros exclaimed. "The Sewer Keeper's gone!" "No, that fear didn't feel natural. I think it was another spell," Mik explained. |

Koraz heard distant footsteps, quickly getting louder as they seemingly approached him. Koraz began thinking about his next move, but was cut short- at that moment, Ickwock charged into him, sending both of them to the ground. "Hey Ickwock." Koraz said, pushing him off. As he stood to get up, he was knocked to the ground again by someone else-Shapdoak, presumably. "By the gods, what are you two running from? It can't be so big that we can't...take...it..." Koraz stared at the gargantuan spider- then leaped into action. He flung a card from one of his several decks into the ground, and in barely a second, oversized cards began sprouting from the ground in a straight line. One of the cards cut one of the spider's legs off, but it kept charging at them.

OOC: Now Oaksand is in a coma, so I have to type in 3rd person.
Okaam, knelled down at Oaksand, and casted spells at his leg. "Wh- the hell are you doing?!" Demanded Oaktrew, "He- you are blind! Stay a way from him." Okaam answered hushly, "There is no Ensprina here, nor another fecca, and there certainly isn't an xelor to slow down the virus, therefore you must trust me, or Oaksand will die." But Oaktrew still wasn't able to accept that a blind man was attempting to save him. Okaam ignored, him and casted more spells. Okaam stood up and said, "There, I have done all I can do. I have created barriers all through out his body, all fighting off the virus." "Will he live?" Asked Oaktrew. "I do not no, all I have done is slowed down his time of death, we need an ensprina. "NO! We Oaktrees don't believe in those fairys! We rely on potions, bread, and medicene." Ickwok got up off of the ground. Koraz was already fighting the gigantic arachnee. With his cards he had already managed to cut off one of its legs. When the giant arachnee leg hit the ground it immediately disappeared. Ickwok thought this odd, but started attacking. He pulled out his bow and started shooting magic arrows at the arachnee.
Koraz was very efficient with his cards. He had chopped off another of its legs. Only six to go. Ickwok ran in close, pulled a dagger, and chopped off a third leg. Ickwok didn't know what Shapdoak was up to, but he didn't seem to be helping in the fight very much. Hopefully this fight would be over soon. At least chopping off its limbs seemed to be working effectively. Ickwok just didn't understand why they disappeared when they fell to the ground. (OOC: This giant arachnee is another one just like the one Mik and Vedaros faced, but since Ickwok nor Koraz know anything about it, I guess we'll have to reduce it to nothing to find out. By the way Shadow, I love the way that you describe Koraz's spells.) |

Name: Soul (first name Amethyst, but he doesn't use it)
Age: Unknown, and noone has yet developed a spell that can work it out. Class: Eniripsa (Chance) Background: Brother of the better-known Guardian, Soul is believed to be half-Demonic. The Vampyre Belt he carries grants him power over shadows, along with limited shapeshifting powers and incredibly sensitive hearing (due to the bat aspect). He is a trained healer, although he prefers not to use his magic for this unless he has no other choice (as Vampiric Word provides enough energy to heal himself and he can't reliably cast Word of Sacrifice). Soul's eyes snapped open to reveal total darkness. He blinked, trying to clear it, then muttered a few words under his breath. A faint purple light began to emanate from his eyes, followed a moment later by a white glow from the eye-like gems on his belt. The illumination was barely enough to show the walls around him, but he had always been at home in darkness and his night vision quickly began to assert itself. He paused, then enunciated a spell of location. Nothing. Either he was in a place not found on any known map, or someone wanted to make sure that anyone there stayed there. A moment later, a thought sprang into his mind. How had he got there? The last thing he remembered was shifting into his bat form to sleep, but that had been near the mouth of a much smaller and lighter cave. Nothing had disturbed his alarm spell during the night, so he must have been moved by something already inside the other cave. A noise from somewhere nearby caught his attention. By the sounds of it, someone was under attack, and it didn't seem to be going well. He took a moment to triangulate the battle, then began to run. (OOC: He's headed for the giant spider. Given it's me writing him, expect him to run into it.) |

(OOC: @charlottedyer: Lots of things. Just to keep the story going, you can run into Mik and Vedaros. I'll write it.)
Vedaros and Mik wandered through the tunnels. In the distance, Mik could vaguely hear a fight, but it seemed to keep moving. "Are these tunnels cursed or something?" Mik demanded. Vedaros didn't reply, he just summoned another Homing Hand. This one didn't run into the wall, however, but floated down the tunnel. It veered around a corner, and there was a blaze of light. Vedaros started running, but even with a limp, Mik was faster. She darted around the corner, and found herself face to face with a strange Cra. "Who are you?" she asked. "My name's Doubley," he replied, taken aback. (OOC: Ok, now we try to find the other people in the tunnels. ) |
