Weapon element maging. So is it only my problem to mage mush cuteers? Tried over 60 potions now, got stats to just +1 ini and...it's really annoying. Anyone had similar problems? If so post, plox!:C

weapon element maging is stupid, and should have a much higher success rate

The success rate for element maging (using the most powerful potion) for almost all high level weapons (100+) is 10%. You are really unlucky to fail 60 times.

Element maging isn't stupid as it gives one a possibility to change the weapon to fit the build.

However, I do agree that success rate could be higher and the dmg reductions could be less, also I would support the idea of merging element maging with crafting, i.e. a smith could add respective potion while crafting and produce a weapon with the needed element.

What's stupid is that we have to pay money to mage our weapons, which also makes them lose stats and reduces their damage, while at the same time str chars can just pick their weapons off the shelf, with much better stats and damage for less cash.

Edit: and it's still not known why all agi, chance and int chars get punished like this for not being str.

A possible solution to that would be that Neutral is affected by all 4 stats, although I'd imagine there'd be some major balance issues there.
ie. scrolling all 4 stats to 100 then going into ones preferred build, I would assume, would cause major unbalance in classes with strong neutral attacks.
ie. Cra's former Punitive Arrow and Atonement Arrow.

P.S. This is a solution to Blazeron's question, not about the element maging.

I only have a Jeweller Magus, and it'll be a while before I get my Chief Croc set back, so I won't need to worry about element maging for a while.

Highest stat only?

or rather than changing the entire way neutral damage works and rebalancing the whole game, make maging weapons easier, and make more weapons....

That would be a good idea. Per example, make wisdom be in charge of neutral damage. That way, everyone could profit of it, and there could be a better working xp formula, too, instead of that abusive wis leeching stuff. Also, str chars their advantage of hitting almost everything for high damage (because almost nothing is very resistant to both earth and neutral) would be diminished.

How about changing it so that neutral damage/resist is related to weapons only? Make all weapons neutral damage and let neutral be buffed by your highest stat like Phatballerz suggests. Would remove the need for maging, but would require an entire review of the neutral sytem - from spells to monster resists.

Not everyone would profit from making neutral damage based on wisdom, at least equally so.

Xelors in particular would have a field day with this. The effects of tying wisdom to leveling, weapon damage, wisdom based defense spells, and AP reduction/steals in one package would be make the Xelor quite powerful in comparison to his fellows using wisdom based weapons with few wisdom based abilities.
