Hey guise,
Here's the perfect way to get rid of botters: In order to make a Dofus account, all new players will be required to sign a contract in blood, feed a homeless guy, bang your head on a desk, remove their appendix, Tonsils and Wisdom Teeth, drink a beer, shave yourself bald, run a mile, pass a driving test, play Russian Roulette, and sit through and entire Pauly Shore movie. |

I don't know about that. I mean with AN ENTIRE Pauly Shore movie, there wouldn't be too many people surviving to play Dofus in the first place. Of course, I'm pretty sure that bots wouldn't mind, so maybe that one wouldn't be so good for filtering out bots... |

I think i may have ur answer on how to finish the bots. If u find multiple bots share the same IP adress, u can just ban the ip adress, stopping possibly hundreds of bots. This would also stop any new accounts from being created, seeing as the person would have to access internet in a different spot until that person runs out of places. I am also sure after nearly a month f banning it would be alright to lift the ban in case a public place was banned.

something like the /clear bug
1. as soon as you log on to a character there is a question like what are these sets of letters (its what they have in most forums/emails when you register). make it so that you are unable to move or do any action till you complete the question. and if they haven't answered in 2 minutes they are disconnected. 2. most online games have anti-hack system that runs along with the game(ex. combat arms with ngm) 3. mods shouldn't be on /away, so that when they receive a pm of spam about selling kamas they should track the website and its ip address. just simple ideas EDIT: make the monsters the lower the level the lesser kamas they get, the higher the level the more kamas(it would also fix the economy) and cut the drops of f2p by half. I paid a visit to the French server 'Many' the other day and was surprised to see absolutly no bots at Incarnam what so ever. I carried on into Astrub and there were no bots advertising outloud or PMing. Out in the Astrub Fields there were a few small groups of bots, however they were pretty much just Cras in groups of threes. I paid a visit to a more populated server 'Otomai' afterwards and Incarnam and Astrub were the same as 'Many'. However in the Astrub fields, there were less groups of bots, but they were in groups of eights instead of threes.
Compared to a server like Rushu, the ammount of bots in the two servers I visited was nothing. The country restrictions must work to a certain extent; Or perhaps it's only because of the vast ammount of French servers compared to only a few english speaking servers. -Rou- This post has been edited by Roumo: 3 Nov 2009, 05:54 |

How about making it so you can't move if you're overencumbered, and instating an item that a player can throw at another player that takes up say, 500 pods or so.
A normal player can just drop this item. Upon dropping it, a new one can not be thrown at you for a week. A bot, wouldn't be programmed to drop it. *Temporary solution* The bots would EVENTUALLY be programmed to drop the item thrown at them or whatever, but for a short period, that would stop the bots. Long term there's no way to stop them but to be able to discern who's botting. But you know, is it just me or does no one else think that any normal player doesn't turn spectation off of their fight within a few milliseconds of entering. Or go over to a mob, sit there for about 1 second, then start the fight? We need some noble bot hunters. |

We need some noble bot hunters. One of those noble bot hunters has a post right above yours. The problem is that no matter how many bots get killed, they will always come back. Originally if the fight starter of a group of bots ran out of energy, the whole group would completely stop fighting. However it appears that now if a bot runs out of energy, they'll just revive and continue fighting once again. If a bot did somehow lose the ability to fight, it would just be replaced by another soon after anyway. -Rou- This post has been edited by Roumo: 4 Nov 2009, 05:38 |

I have a bot hunting character, but since Ankama implemented the neutral gaurds it's almost impossible to survive long enough to effectively kill a bot down to 0 energy.

Bots are a huge problem in f2p worlds it makes it really difficult for people to actually enjoy playing dofus with them there. Its getting ridiculacly out of hand because
there are just to many and, from what i seen in the past few years, no one has done anything about it. 1. they steal many fights in astrub and incradam and it makes extremuly difficult it for f2p players to get recoursces and experiance especially the lower level ones. 2. they spam the page with their advertizment. For example if your talking to a friend on the same screen as an advertizer they'll spamm the page so its a pain to read what your friend is saying. Ya you can choose to ignor them but it gets annoying ingoring over 20+ people everyday. 3.THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH BOTS IS THAT WITH SO MANY OF THEM IN THE GAME, ITS REALLY HARD FOR REAL PLAYERS TO LOG IN BECAUSE THE SERVER IS FULL!! |

All other topics about bots will be either closed or merged into this one. There are two types of bots: spambots and harvest bots. In most ways they'll have to be treated differently. For harvest bots, ideally you want to make them nonprofitable - invisibly tainting the resources that they gather in some manner would be quite useful, as would be transparently shunting them into a parallel astrub with inactive sellrooms after a fight. As an alternative, you could go after the accounts that gather the items (or kamas from sales) by tracking trades. For both harvest and spam bots, you would do well to find ways to allow long-time accountholders intervene in their activities, as well as agressively ban mention of kamas selling websites and similar. Drastically reducing drop rates for f2p would help, as would limiting f2ps by having them have a minimum delay between fights of 2 minutes (and a longer login delay) would be helpful. |

having drop reduction would make f2pers even more angry.
I think a good solution it to get bots ip adress and ban that address so it cant be used anymore on dofus. that would stop bots maybe |

So I've noticed a serious increase in p2p bots in the past 2 weeks. If they're beginning to take over the p2p areas as well then Ankama is going to have to step up their progress rate or people will start leaving at an even faster rate.

If they want to seriously play the game, they can subscribe. Otherwise, they're just testing it out. |

You will be singing a different tune when your p2p runs out. To track down a kama seller you could trace a bots transactions, trace kamas (also ban the buyer) and any large amounts of money for exchange with items could have the items cross referenced by market then the money could be taken into consideration and depending on the money difference it could be reported to a mod to look at it. To ban a advertisement bot you could see how many posts it has made in the last 10minutes and of what size. If you made too many similar posts you could be disconnected. One really good idea is to make a random event so when the fight starts the players turn into creature graphics and the monsters into characters. The bots would automatically attack their team mates. |

Offer rewards for screenshots of people talking about using bots in any way whether it be buying or making, if you kill the customers they'd have to move on. Of course then we'd be stuck trying to find away for people to avoid abusing this system by reporting their own alternate accounts.

You will be singing a different tune when your p2p runs out. I would imagine he would just P2P again. While I would love to see all bots gone. I don't have any hope of it happening. I won't go out of my way to do anything about a f2p bot but I will definitely take the time to screenshot, upload, and report a P2P one. |

By the way, if any mods are out there I would love to become a Mod for Solar. the bots are pushing most the Free to play players into chafer territory which upsets the higher level players who then rage about the "noobs" stealing mobs and then calling for help. I would be glad to help a bit after school. |
