Hello!

To liven up the beta a bit (yes the duty free area and its potions miss you too!) I am going to try to put down some interesting groups of monsters all over the World of Twelve. At the moment, you can have an appointment with the Dragon Pig, Lord Crow, Peki Peki and others in the 2 arenas and near the Amakna Kano. But be careful!! They're very eager to meet you...

The reason for this levity is clear: to entertain you AND to make sure the AI is up to the challenge! wink.gif

Have fun and good testing!

Introduction

With less than two weeks left before the release of DOFUS 2.0, we’re taking a little time to explain to you how we plan to change the DOFUS 2.0 client, not only until December 2nd, but also afterwards. There’s not enough time left before the launch to make major changes, but we are completely devoted to continuing the development and improvement of the DOFUS 2.0 client to satisfy the needs of the community after its release. DOFUS has made great strides since its first release over five years ago and we don’t look at the release date of December 2nd as the last improvement or adaptation of the game. DOFUS is going to continue growing and improving thanks to updates and expansions which we intend to keep releasing. For this article, we want to address the most interesting or worrying issues under discussion by the community on the forums and in game.

This most recent update has sound effects and music! To use the sound, you must leave the Uplauncher open as you play.

If you still have no sound, and your DOFUS 2.0 installation is up-to-date, then please uninstall and reinstall the game from the ground up to get the sound working.

Have fun!

About the Appearance of Pandawas:

Male pandawas have undergone a complete overhaul with the intent of better matching the expectations of the players.

Arm bandages are back, and can be color customized, as can the rope belt. Trousers have been lengthened, the face has been changed, and the overall build buffed up to better correspond to animations and to the history of this class.

Female Pandawas have also put their bandages back on and their rope belts are also color customizable.

Soon, the skeleton animations will be altered to accommodate the change in appearance of Pandawa's heads when they are in the Drunken State.

We will continue improving the appearances of the classes even after DOFUS 2.0 has been launched.

Interfaces:
  • The Zaapi interface has been changed, its operation is now similar to that used in DOFUS 1.29.

  • Alignment balance by area is now displayed in the spellbook.

  • The character illustration displayed in the inset of the main interface now matches the colour of the character.
  • The marriage interface has been changed to improve readability.
  • The colour of some text has changed to improve readability.
  • The paddock list scrollbar in the guild interface works correctly.
  • Mounts’ inventory gauges are displayed correctly.
  • The display of tooltips for groups of monsters has been improved.

  • Character titles are now displayed.
  • Tooltips have been added to characters during exchanges between characters.
  • When increasing the level of a spell in the spellbook, the list of spells no longer moves.
  • The Level Up interface has been revised, it now displays the next spell to be received (and the level when that will happen) when the character levels up but doesn’t receive a new spell.

  • The world map now opens in several stages in order to reduce the amount of time it takes to open.
  • Multi-clienting has been revised; each client is now handled as a different process (in order to make the most of multiple processors and to prioritise clients). • Gobtubby animations have been completely redone.

Characters:
  • All figures have been revised to correctly adjust the size of hats on their heads. This change has caused a bug with the hair of Iops, Sacriers, Sadidas and Fecas, which no longer disappear under their hats. This bug is being resolved; please don’t report it to us.
  • The appearance of male Pandawas has been revised. Their belts are the same colour as their scarves, and the bandages on their forearms and their rope belts are now colourable.

Grozilla and Grasmera are officially back! Colossal explosive shells that have already been dubbed “Sauroshells” appeared all through the Dreggon Peninsula; evidence seems to link them to the reappearance of these ancient reptiles.

Both lizards remain hidden at the moment, but perhaps a method to flush them out can be devised. The bravest of adventurers are taking charge! King Allister has promised rewards to all who participate in this research and even greater honors are waiting for those who can find and beat the two creatures! More information on Grozilla, Grasmera and Sauroshells.

Correction!

Contrary to previous reports, sound won't be available at first for this test. The developers have decided to concentrate on load balancing for the 2.0 login server during this open session so it can be further improved for the release of 2.0!

Sound will be added to the beta server shortly.

Some time ago, a rumor was going around that two famous dragons had been spotted along the edges of the Dreggon Peninsula. When no tangible proof surfaced, the rumor slowly died out.

Today, specialists in the habits of Dreggons have mentioned behavior in several Dragostesses that is more than passing strange; it almost seems as if they have been thrown into fits of panic. These creatures – who would usually never have dared to show their scales above the crust of the earth - have been wandering distractedly through the peninsula far from the Sanctuary.

Strange things are afoot in the Dreggons’ Lair, we hope to learn more about it in the next few days.

As stated above, the server dev team has been studying the login server to determine the cause of the recent connection difficulties, especially those of last weekend.

The current login system really needs a great deal of optimization to better balance the traffic load during the massive player influxes on weekend evenings.

The server team has already developed a new login system for DOFUS 2.0, but with the release of DOFUS 2.0 so close, we have no available resources to develop a patch for the 1.29 login server.

We would like to add that these login problems are not linked to our hosting service or the power of the machines that host our game servers, and that the login server is the only part of the game system affected.

With the release of 2.0, these login problems will begin to be corrected.

Our very last game for tonight is a scavenger hunt. I've hidden beta keys in a few of the mods' and mentors' profiles. Make sure to leave them a nice comment if you're the first to find the ones with keys!

I'm going to close this topic for now. We'll have more give-aways on the forums next week! Have a great weekend!

Ummm --> I don't see his post on the first 5 pages either.

There's more too, but showing you just those two already should say something about how wrong your list is.

They sent me PMs so others couldn't take their answers. They were ages before everyone else posted the answers so I knew they'd figured it out on their own. =)
