Posted by: SmilyCelly 27 Nov 2007, 10:20

Dear players,

A second translator has come and joined us to go over the translations of DOFUS, improve their quality and make the game even more enjoyable for all of you.
Consequently, some names of items, spells and NPC have changed (and it will continue until we finish proofreading the entire game...!).

Obviously we'll keep on moving things around as we really want to make things better for you.

You can find the list of modifications below.

Hello!

We've kept on improving the English version, always with the aim to make it more enjoyable for you.

So here are the few changes that we've made lately and that should appear online as of tomorrow after our maintenance.

Items:

The word Dink which was quite confusing for a fish has been replaced by Snapper.

To the general request, the word Collector has been replaced by Perceptor.

Please report in this section of the forum anything that does not comply with what's just been listed.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope you'll enjoy these few changes!

Hi !

We've done a lot of harmonization work in the DOFUS content which should improve the game!

One item changed names :

- Greykiss brown Flour (which did not make much sense) becomes Minx Flour (more coherent with its description!).

That's the only change, for now!

Hi!

We've corrected some more inconsistencies and therefore:

- Tronom's Small Hammer became Small Outar Hammer - to stick to the Outar Hammer family!

- Iron rod became Iron Wand

Mistranslations in the names of the soul stones for sale in the Bontarian and Brakmarian Arenas (from NPC Runoga Gha, and Runago Gho respectively) have been corrected and the names have been harmonised to make them easier to search for and their purpose more clear.
Their descriptions have been changed to make their purpose more clear. The text of the effect shown on the soul stone has also been corrected.

To that end:

The text of the stones' effect has been corrected from "x% capture of y soul of power" (for example, "25% capture of 50 soul of power") to "x% chance of capturing a power y soul" (for example, "25% chance of capturing a power 50 soul")

The text of the stones' description has been amended to "You'll have a limited/even/good chance of capturing level x souls using this soul stone." where limited/even/good changes depending on if the stone is Risky, Regular, or Lucky.

The initial names "Happy", "Hazardous" and "Haphazard" came from mistranslations of the French words Heureuse and Hasardeuse (in the context of the chance of the soul stone capturing a soul).

Further Soul Stone changes:

The text of the stones' effect has been corrected from "x% capture of y soul of power" (for example, "100% capture of 50 soul of power") to "x% chance of capturing a power y soul" (for example, "100% chance of capturing a power 50 soul")

The text of the stones' description has been amended to reference the power of the soul that the stone can capture.

The following changes have been made to improve the consistency of item and resource names in-game, and to correct several mistranslations.

The confusion with the Crackler Set pieces has hopefully been addressed, with the original non-set item "Crackler Amulet" being renamed "Crackler Pendant", and the Cracklamulet being renamed "Crackler Amulet", to fit with the rest of the set.

One of them is incorrect, and should actually be called "Holy Bambooto Wood".
This is the wood that has been correctly re-named:
