But its your own choice. People who suggest you leech to xx levels just means they need to learn to play. Back in the good ol' days people didnt leech. People teamed up and took out monsters together, playing on each others strengths.

Leeching isn't bad thing, if you got friends who wanna leech you - or your main. But it's annoying if they (leechers) are spamming messages to general channels or PMing you.

Leeching is good when you don't want to spend countless weeks of grinding up to the desired level.

I don't like leechers and I don't like to play in one team with leechers as they lack basic knowledge of the game mechanics.
Leeched chars are usually very limited and lack versatility, also leechers often can't follow the strategy and don't listen to more experienced players.

Nikto said it best
Most of the time i can tell if somone was leeched to 100 or worked to 100 people who were leeched to 100 usually dont play as well as those that have done it the hard way with tears swaet and blood and sometimes its so bad they lack basic skills like they wont know how to use certain spells and besides leeching takes the fun out of it all why not work for it? thats half the fun!

'Ratting' is a new term for me blink.gif
Either way, I never liked leeching myself and never have done so. I actually quite much enjoyed the game before I got to 100 (even before I got to learn about the Wikia, ages ago - just being a noobie running around in Astrub to finish quests with rewards that weren't worth the time anyways). Nothing is more annoying than people telling you what you have to do. Do as you wish, if I were you I'd personally have left that guild and moved to a rather enjoyable one.

Ratting is the term that killed the achievment of getting L100. Now all the rando noobs can even get L200 without any real work. Leeching killed Dofus.

(I STILL prefer soloing all my characters to L80~. It doesnt take me very long, I learn to play my class well, and I have a lot of fun acting like a total noob. {not getting kamas off my main account, working on buying my own sets and whatnot})

Ratting is leeching people off on rats in Bonta or Brakmar sewers. Usually a ratter is a dmg sadida (the most comical moment with dmg sadis that they can be lvl 60-70 and leech off lvl 100-120 characters) or an agi iop. Both builds have amusing ability to kill rats very fast with almost no risk. And even xp per fight is mediocre due to the speed and easiness of killing rats with these builds xp per minute is higher than anywhere else for the respective range of levels (usually from 1 to 120-130).

Nowadays ratting is a huge business on Rosal and I totally agree with Travis that ratting killed the lvl 100 glow. For many people the game starts only at level 100 and until they reach lvl 150 any old school player will be very frustrated if he/she finds himself/herself in a company of one of them.

i am a lvl 108 Sadi ( main leeching class) and i am proud to say i never once have leeched or even though about leeching or even going dmg. Since lvl 1 i have stayed Str though i find it inecessantly annoying when people assume im a leeching sadi despite my crimson turkey and terrdala hat and cape and i generally frown upon those who do leech as often when they get to lvl 100 and go back to str, they have no idea how to use any other spells or how to play together with a team at all and makes them kind of a hinderance when going on guild runs or hunts even with random people

Haha, I lost a lot of "friends" when I had my sadida as my main character (Is my highest still but not my main) just because I wouldn't leech them. Yes I was a damage Sadida, yes I could solo rats at like 56, but I wouldn't leech them. For one I am not a firm believer of leeching (Only a few times I've leeched and that was from 99-112 or so when my guild leader did S/O and took me along. x.x I didn't want to but he wanted me in my leech set since I had around 400 total (At 99 I went damage/wisdom.)) ANYWAYS, you're right, it is annoying when most of a guild says you should have leeched to 100, no wonder even on my sadida I could take almost anyone around my level. (Not anymore, sold the set I had and such to make my agi sram.)

lol, its actually funny, i made a sadi and worked my way up in lvls to make it a ratter, its so rediculous the amount of cash you make from ratting ppl, they are THAT desperate to lvl lol xD i mean, i was in a group with a lvl 115 Int eca and they were saying "i can really heal?? how???" and they attked themselves and did more harm then good, it was perfectly obvious that they got ratted, later i found out they did... like... i understand that you dont wanna grindto lvl 100, but isnt that the game? If you wanna just pvp, go play dofus arena... you have no right to call yourself lvl 100 if you didnt reach it yourself... because technically, it isnt your chracter...

Sometimes i rat when i desperately need to lvl just 1 or 2 more times to do some epic events with my friends. Sometimes the temptation to put on your perfect set is just too much and well... you just lose it tongue.gif

I lol'ed at that eca story. Did he remember what build he was at least?

Lol, he had a main, and he said he was too lazy to lvl anther character, so here we are, defending a perc, and he is asking questions about his build... i was like... WTF!? It was a horrible time to learn how to play your class.... He spent the whole time attking us, i asked wtf build he was and he said he was "a healing eca" i was like.... "uhhh" it was classic, what made it 12x worse was, he was using roulet and it lifted everyone's spells... i basically said he should just give up on the class. However im proud to say with MUCH coaching, it only took him about a week or two to understand how to play his class.... however, it was to late for our perc... D:

edit: stupid typos xD

Heh, Liquim, I feel sorry for you. I am nervous anytime in a team with a pandawa because if they are leeched, they have a tendency to throw people at the worst time/place. Saw one throw someone next to a bombshell just as it got enough ap to explode once. Makes a bad name for pandawas in general. On the other hand, I have teamed with some that are awesome. I would say that the leeching just leaves people with no sense of tactics in the game. Frustrating when you encounter one like that, but that is how it is.
