I already have got the Dofus 2.0 beta version, via my code. And I want to tell you that I'm really disappointed. The complete design of Dofus 1, is completely gone. The unique style this game has, is one of the main reasons I picked this game over Runescape, Maplestory, or whatever. Tons of players are used to this design, and not a single different game I know, or some of my friends know, uses this kind of art. Now, you guys are changing it to the very well known and the-in-my-opinion overused 3D style. The first time I logged in and played, I was like: What the $(&@ is this? Where is my cute little cat with his awesome poses? It's completely gone. And I really hope that there is going to be an option to either play Classic mode (The Dofus that we're playing now) or the 'Modern' mode (Dofus 2.0). If not, I think I'm going to stop. So do some of my friends, and like 1/2 of my guild too. And I'm sure not only me and my guild.
I do understand that this is going to be a bad option, because this would mean you'd have to maintain 2 different games, with most likely 2 different coding.

So yeah, this is my opinion about Dofus 2.0.

Wow, I hope they don't change it like that because I love this game a lot and how it looks. Did they change the whole Amakna village and stuff or just the screen play? I've subscribed a couple times so I'm really happy I'm p2p right now so I can check it out but I don't wanna quit right now with my sub still running I mean, I've played tons of other games, but none of them has been as expansive and different as Dofus. Btw, is that Wakfu stuff out in English yet cuz I may switch to that if 2.0 doesn't work out. I'd be so sad if they changed everything like Krash said

well I think Dofus(1) needed an update graphics wise. Sure they had a little change in art style, but i'm glad to see the Dofus team really trying to excel the community along with keep with todays tech.

Im very happy about the 2.0 because i have played dofus for many years and this classic graphic is boring. So these changes are very interesting for me.

Because I just got my 2.0 key, and my Ecaflip I recently created is not on 2.0

I'm very skeptic about Dofus 2.0 due to the fact that I've played Dofus since its infancy (as many of us have). Seeing this game grow to be what it is today has truly been an experience. I understand that times change and in order to keep up with the many large and popular MMO's dominating the market (WoW,EQ2,Diablo 2,ect) Dofus needs an overhaul, or else it will fall victim to these juggernauts. The question is "Is this new art style the correct route to go?" I personally would love to see more Mid-End game content which will undoubtedly come in the near future, but I feel the time it has taken to development this Graphical touch up has taken away from upcoming implementations of Dungeons, Quests, Items and so forth as we haven't exactly seen a large influx in any of the three in quite some time. I have yet to experience Dofus 2.0 myself so I'll hold off on my opinion of its visuals, but as you can blatantly see it has been subject to mixed criticism and harsh review, therefore I have my doubts of its appeal.

Mac installer fails, seriously.



Come on, that should be picked up by a simple test. =p

Double clicking the app doesn't do anything, hence why I used the manual launcher.

Permissions are a mess on it, I (main admin) have read-only permissions to everything.. ?!

And to the one having issues with the Mac OSX installer: right click, show package contents and extract the Archive in there. .pax or some shit.

I have downloaded and am waiting eagerly for it to finish :S will we have to start a new charecter ???

i have got the BETA version but it has been checking the downloaded version of my file for ages, at least 20 minutes, is this supposed to happen?

I haven/t gotten any spells or items, only emotes what is wrong

This is what i think about Dofus 2.0

Bad:
- Too big in-game characters
- Too small menu and characterization menu
- Bad looking equipment
- Bad looking animation on spells
- Some places seem too different from dofus 1
- sometimes feels like an entirely different game from dofus 1
- Too many changes from dofus 1
- Overall too small text in everything

Good:
- some places look very good
- spell icons look cool
- spell menu seems cool
- menu system also seem cool, but its too small and hardere to navigate than dofus 1
- Most characters are good-looking
-easy to move from one map to another
- feels like it has less lagg



But in the end, I thought Dofus 2.0 was dissapointing. I hope ANKAMA keeps dofus 1, so that people can choose which version to play. I would prefer playing version 1

As I logged into the open Beta session, I realized, much to my dismay, that 2.0 is an Epic Fail. Nothing makes sense in it. The graphics look like Hello Kitty invaded Ankama and threw up.... *sighs* I too hope that there will be a "Classic Mode" option, as 2.0 seems to be focused more at 5 year olds. I just resubbed, or I don't think I would continue playing... I hope some SERIOUS improvements are made before the actual release of 2.0.

I am using Windows 7. Have T9600 Cpu 4gb ram, no problem on normal dofus. I ve downloaded Dofus 2.0 now and it setup and downloaded uptade...

Now starting the game, however when i Maximize it, it doesn't also, it doesn't go forward from loading screen, i can't see the login screen...

uh Im so sick of everytime something new in the game comes out I have trouble downloading or getting on
it has been an hr and 15mins since we were allowed to start getting on I downloaded b4 that time and had to wait for the launcher and that wont work now
the launcher is paused at waiting for download, by the time it starts up the gate will b closed >.<

Yeah well this "BETA" isnt seeming to work for much people soz i think you people are'nt ready for a 2.0 update... Cause i think most people like how it is now and it should stay this way. K umm, I can't ever understand one simple thing. Why do all MMO companies try to improve the graphics of the game? I'm sure that more then 50% of Dofus community doesn't like the new looks, the old ones are just ideal. Also, I'm sure that LOADS of players will quit because of this update. For example, take a look at Runescape, everybody liked it so much, now they "upgraded" the graphics, and 50% or more players left. Aren't you guys supposed to learn from others mistakes?

i realy dont like 2.0. before i played it could i wait to see atlantica. but now i dont even want to play dofus 2.0 anymore. i can hardly read the text and its to different. also the screen where you see AP,MP,resistance becomed to little. i think i quit. why dont you just keep the characters? and why did you guys need to make the text so little? exiledas is right. everyone thinks that 2.0 will be're great. but then they see this......

I managed to get 2.0 downloaded and installed, I can sign in ok but when I get to the server choice page there arent any servers to choose from so I cant play, any help?

I hope that this update doesnt take place... too much has changed and it now looks like a completely new game, which most people do not like. I hope someone comes to their senses about this update.. it is downright nasty..

Listen you flaming scrubs, Dofus 2.0 although the grafics and the feel of Dofus 1.0 seem to be gone, is still a great advancement in the game. Everything is far more crisp and far more clear. The map changing is smoother, AND yes there is lagg, because of everyone trying to access the one and only test server. I am tired some of the shitty response some of you ignorant dip shits are giving. "0MGFG LES PROTEST RAWR." Are you kidding me? Grow up and maybe put give some intelligent feed back.

Im sorry im not some geeky queer that has no life and lives for dofus and knows about all the "memory leaks" or what ever that is soz... and maybe i might quit.. thats why most people have been quiting cause ankama has been making the game even worse every effing update.... im gunna laugh when ankama looses like half the population of the dofus community cause of the 2.0 update....

You don't have to be a no-lifer to know about memory leaks..
If you really were interested in why you have those problems and stuff you would know.
And im not saying that i like how 2.0 is.. there's alot of stuff that makes me wanna quit too.. but like i just said.. i prefer to try and see if they make any changes then just quit..

I agree. I know absolutely nothing about computers and even I took the time to look up the cause of the lags. A lot of the posts in this topic illustrate the main reasons why I hate reading the forums sometimes. People overreact and complain and threaten to quit after every update. 2.0 is a major overhaul graphics and interface-wise, but if you actually take the time to test it out you'll find that there's a bunch of great things that have come along with it.

It seems to me the people who say they're gonna "quit" have taken only one look at 2.0 and dismissed it as ugly and horrible. Now I'm not saying everyone who hates this update hasn't taken the time to really test it out, but rather the majority of posts that have voiced this opinion haven't presented any facts to back it up. What part of 2.0 do you not like as compared to 1.xx?

This is a beta and the things you dislike may change. Voice your opinion logically and calmly.



Personally I wasn't sure I liked it myself when I first saw it. My main problem was not knowing where to find certain things on the GUI. After some practice though I started to get the hang of it and it was smooth sailing from then on.

U guys complaining about the update of 2.0 u guys are idiots. I mean I would like to see u people complaining make a MMORPG game as popular as dofus and be able to uppdate it from 1.0 to 2.0 without any buggs,laggs and problems. Try it and let me know if you could sucessfully.

Guys please... Of course it's going to lag, of course there are bugs, of course it will take long to log in and of course it's gonna take a long time to install.
It's a BETA version, made for us to try, to see what is wrong in it so we can tell so they can fix it. When the full 2.0 version comes out the biggest bugs will be gone and the lag will probebly be fixed. 1000's of people are trying to log in on just 1 server, what did you think? That you could just play it without any lag and without any problem? Lurn to deal with it...

If you don't like the 2.0 version, to bad. Yes maybe there are some parts in Dofus 1 that were nicer, so what? Not everything can be perfect? Maybe it's ugly in your eyes and nice in their eyes. If you are wanting to quit, that's to bad, and less lag for us. You don't even want to try? Everyone as been complaining about Dofus 1, they make a huge change and still you dare to complain? No respect...

Omg... When i try opening it, it says that Dofus 2.0 Beta gotta restart, this can take a few minutes... I waited 30 mins or more! That isnt "a few" plz help me!

Sometimes it doesn't restart.. you have to open it manually..

If your using Window XP:

Go to C:\Program Files\Dofus 2 Online\app and open Dofus.exe manually. It should work.

Well, since I can't play the new version, at least I was able to download it this time.

I was going through the sprites to look at what was new and such, and I couldn't have hoped to find what I did. I laughed at the NaN.swf under vector artworks, as it says on it:

"Test CODE LOL WTF"

I got a laugh out of that ^^

I'm going to look through the animations next, hehe.

EDIT: I must say, the special swl encodes are brilliant, it will prevent any novice hackers from looking into how you made your animations. I see a few rough spots up close on some of the classes, and the animation for movement could be improved a little. Keep up the good work Ankama workers ^^

I have a small question for the people who have played Beta... Once you furst start game you can change your colors, once you start the game itself, can you still be able to change it ore will it stay like that forever?

It's just a BETA version, see Wakfu, plenty of bugs, worse than 2.0... Just shut up and wait until it's completely done to complain. If you don't like, don't play, otherwise if you still play, it means you need a psychologist because of your addiction.

Most of them are complaining because they'll have problems with multi-client. That's it. The others, maybe because they like obsolete stuff, or simple stuff, go and play Tibia then. Dofus 2.0 isn't similar to any game (excluding wakfu and DA) that's why it rocks, that flash thingy is so awesome, perfect drawings and scenario. 2.0 There I go!

Once the original version is released I think you'll be able to change your colors once

I just got finished trying 2.0 out, and with the exceptions of some minor (and expected) bugs, it has well exceeded my expectations. I have played almost every MMO (yes, even Runescape.) I have been a resident of the World of Twelve for almost 4 years, now. I watched Dofus grow, and I feel like a proud parent. The fact that some people disagree with the change is rather odd to me, but everyone isn't going to agree with everything, and that's just how the world works. Ankama did an awesome job of considering what their players wanted, and though the graphics were updated, The World of Twelve still manages to maintain that quirky, cartoony, pun-filled awesomeness that I fell in love with 4 years ago. This is why I have never been faithful to any othe MMO since then. Horrah for 2.0! Keep it up, Ankama! You make dedicated players like me proud.

I agree that people complain to much... They should try it furst, lurn it and then quit ore not. I have tryd the beta version a few hours ago. It's amaizing. Only thing is when you're on a mount it takes a bit longer to attack... Oh well

hehehe, Mounts are problematic because they didn't create a specific ''movement'' for each spell I think, soon it'll be as fast as unmounted.

I dont think i have ever showed how grateful i am ever since i have been a memeber of dofus... Thanks Ankama for the hard work you are doing, i havent played 2.0 yet, tried to install the open beta but i stopped it for the reason that i want it to be a surprise for me when it finally comes out on the 2nd. Being a member of dofus from the start of dofus has been a challenging experience both for the players and for the Devs, I have been through all updates and judging by the looks of things, you guys never stop trying to impress us, me to be precise, with your hard works and i hope you will continue with the good works... Well I didn't get to try this one either. For some reason I had no items or spells. My dt was not there either. All I had were emotes, and mp, ap. Not even chat was working. So just running around, and not being able to do anything was not my idea of fun. If I don't ever get to try it I guess I'll just wait until December 2nd. It's not to far away.

Immediately upon starting up 2.0 for the first time, you have to change your colors. However, once Ogrines are available, you will be able to change your colors (and gender, and name) for a small amount of real life money, or by buying Ogrines from another player with kamas.

Wow the whiners are out in force.

Specific criticisms:
1. Running on turkey is too smooth. Bump the rider a bit.
2. UI is dark, gloomy and perhaps too small.

I didn't play much - had 2 second long ping...

I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Dofus 2.0 today, I feel the graphics were visually stunning.

One complaint I have is over the mounts, specifically over Mounted Combat. It seems as though the characters do not move much (If at all) during animations.
I doubt this is intentional so I'll pass this off as a "Beta Thing", as I imagined it to be MUCH more fluent and smooth... then again they never were in the original Dofus.

Hmm... well, I haven't been into the beta, but I've seen screenshots. The tail on Dragoturkeys could use some straightening out, and the feet need thinning down. Other than that, nothing can be done except make a new mount. I'd love a Tabi, but that'll have to wait for a while after 2.0, probably.

Pets: Piwins look weird. Ross is ugly, but then again, 1.0 Ross is ugly. Jellufo is far too large, Bwaks have shrunk. Most pets don't seem to quite share their owner's square, either.

Apart from this (and trying to make a hasty collection of 1.0 pictures), I'm looking forwards to 2.0!

I think tha dofus 2.0 is interesting. I used to play dofus for years and i think that dofus realy needed a change. I played dofus 2.0 first time yesterday and i think that it is realy a very good update as everything are going to change (exept levels and items on palyers that's good). to tell the truth i think that dofis 1.29 is a bit boring but with the update it will attract more players as the grafics will be much better and the sense of the 3D game will be awsome. I cant wait until dofus 2.0 will be the only possible way to play dofus. ty amkna i think that you have done a realy good job with the new dofus!!
