As has been said before in this thread, this is not the place to be making those complaints, this is the place where a solution is (hopefully) to be had. The issue does seem to be specific in how it manifests as not everyone is experiencing it. If you would like to contribute something useful that might help narrow down the cause, please do.
Mmm correct me if I'm wrong, but is this not a "Community Forum"? And I also believe a "forum" is a place for talk and discussion. And I do believe that everyone here has a right to speak about how they feel about this issue. This section is called "Problems and Solutions" and to be fair, talking about compensation is a part of the end game solution. This is a place for the people/community's voice so shame on anyone who would try to quiet them because they only want to see "Computer specifics" or 20+ posts about how they cant play because of lag. Everyone's voice should be heard, if you don't like it, then just scroll past it. SImple as that

We could make another topic only about complaints then Anyway in my humble opinion we can't talk about compensation until the problem is fixed. We even don't know how much time it will take. And if the problem will be fixed at all. Honestly it depends on us, we can make things go faster if we keep this topic relatively free of irrelevant information (irrelevant to the process of fixing the problem of course).

Technical details from me: (Thanks to Nerd-Tease for showing how to check these)
Performance: Limit on creature mode: Infinite
Aura Display Options: None
Allow monster and NPC animations outside of combat: False
Multi-Account optimization: True (tried False and no success)
Scenery cache is enabled and set to normal

Possibly Relevant system information:
SystemInfo: OsName = Windows
SystemInfo: OsVersion = 6.1
SystemInfo: OsExtra = Service Pack 1
SystemInfo: CPUName = Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz
SystemInfo: CPUFeatures = SSE;SSE2;SSE3;SSE4.1;SSE4.2;AVX;AVX2;AES;HyperThreading
SystemInfo: VideoCardDeviceName = NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
SystemInfo: ScreenSize = 1920x1080

Game version info:
DOFUS CLIENT v 2.41.1.120565.3

Flash player WIN 11,8,800,94

In terms of the problem: I've noticed that it doesn't need to have something in common with being idle. I've got small/medium delays even when I'm entering new map on 1 or 2 accounts (while runnint 8). I rarely have to type something in the chat to unfreeze the screen, it normally unfreezes after several seconds. I agree that being idle can make you disconnect but there are also problems when you're actively playing. I still get small lags while talking to npc - for example while talking to the meridia during almanax quests. Btw I've discovered another (small) bug: In the options menu I sometimes don't see ticks until I hover mouse cursor over them - might be connected with game freeze but I'm not entirely sure.
Maybe that's irrelevant but I'm making sure to add any info that might help. I keep my thumbs up for you Devs, good luck!

I guess we should start sending support tickets for every single account that we have. Maybe that would give them an idea of how widespread this issue is once support collapses.

Let's just wait a few years and see if the problem still persist and if it is still lagging for the minority, maybe Ankama will eventually open a second server where the minority playerbase who are having problems can play without hassle.

Or, let's wait for players to stop playing so that Echo will not be too overcrowded and that will lessen the lag/disconnection, kinda ironic because that is like "the problem solved itself".

Since the game is not playable atm I'm not able to check every paddock on every character now because some clients are getting frozen when I enter the paddock/map. I've got many pregnant mounts which are going to miscarry soon. Could you Developers extend time for mounts before the miscarry while the problem with lag/disconnection exists? It would save tons of mine (and probably not only mine) mounts, thanks in advance!

Yeah, a friend has this issue where if he opens paddocks his client freezes and crashes. I'm not entirely sure if it's somehow correlated to this issue but he said it hasn't happened before the merge

Situation is just ridiculous, and we have no information that they are even working on this issue.
Last night I was with my 5 accounts at Captain Meno's boss room. Had lagged a bit during previous rooms. In the middle of the boss fight, 3 of my 5 accounts suddenly disconnected, while rushing to log them back, I missed some turns, only to have the other 2 accounts disconnecting, once I logged them back 2 the dcs continued happening....you can imagine the result of the fight and my frustration. Not planning to waste kamas or money on p2p if this continues as I cannot do anything in game.

Well i just submitted 5 support tickets today, one for every account I play with. Maybe if all of us do the same then we can get some atention from ankama. I refuse to pay p2p while this problem persists.

Is today's maintenance dealing with this issue?

I got a reply from support to my ticket:

Support and devs are not the same staff. Since I cannot talk directly to devs I have to go through the official channels to let them know about a serious problem. Seriously doubt dev read forums to check if there are issues.

The developers do read the forums to check if there are issues, provided they have the time. Failing that, it's up to the CMs (that would be Izmar and myself) to report said issues. Which we have done.

On May 8, I told you the developers were aware of the issue and working on it, and with the help of Nerd-Tease's I asked you for more information about your systems, so that the issue could be properly identified and fixed. Some of you have complied, giving us very interesting data indeed. I kept keeping you updated through May 12, but the official message was still the same: the developers were working on it. I admit that I could have been more present on this thread during the past week, but I had nothing new to add, and my attentions were turned elsewhere.

However, flooding the Support helps no-one. The developers are already aware of the situation, you've already got our attention. You've had it for a couple of weeks now. All you do by flooding Support is make them work slower on topics where they can actually help: account theft, subscription issue, anything but reporting the same bug the developers are already working on over and over again, without adding anything substantially new or helpful each time. In short, worse than simply helping no-one, you are actively harming other players by delaying Support in providing them the help they need.

Please stop.

With these settings, I have issues while multilogging 4 accounts. One of them gets disconnected every minute or so. Main account stands firm. Other two disconnects apparently randomly every hour.

Godspeed devs. Godspeed and gl.

Their main priority is to solve the issue, guessing the compensation comes afterwards....hopefully.

Situation became worse past three days. Now Im getting dcd even when having just one client opened. Dcs occur every 10 minutes or less.

There is also notable lag, which can be fixed by typing something to chat (however as soon as u stop typing, it reoccurs).

I have filled in the form several posts above through my alt account.

EDIT: Right now, it is impossible to login to server due to its "unknown status", but the queue is working, tho jumping apparently randomly. I have never seen such behaviour.

After last maintenance things got slightly better, but now it is back down again. Extremely severe lag, frozen clients, random disconnects....etc
Multi-accounting is just an utopia now, and single accounting is hard enough.

I'm not heavily affected, playing 2-5 accounts. I only had some random DCs occuring just a few times a week.

A good time of day, is it normal? I pay my money for quality content, but what do I get recently? A lot of bugs, the inability to play, and all this fun for my own money? Make a refund for these bugs, or postpone the subscription until you do, quality server performance

...

I am having problem logging in with multiple characters once again... Can you just give me back my subscription and ill wait until you fix all this.. You're literally stealing my money, when i bought/subscribed i didn't get a warning saying that i won't be able to log in and that i will get disconnected 99% of the time!

For me it got much much better. At the moment server doesn't even kick me out, maybe because I've reinstalled everything on my PC, maybe because something got fixed already. I'm able to play anyway now Much thanks!

I don't think the problem is fixed. It is just that they reboot servers 3 times a day. After last maintenance I had one day when things seemed OK, but after that it got bad really fast again with severe lag and disconects.

Indeed, I'm sorry to have to report that the issue is not fixed at the moment. The few short maintenances we have had these last couple days were meant to fix another issue (although it is not impossible that, for some of you, both issues were linked).

As explained in the Server Reboots thread, we have taken advantage of some of these maintenances to fix some issues that we think were causing the lags and disconnections for some of you, meaning some of you should start seeing some progress. However, fully fixing the issue for everyone is still a work in progress. The developers are exploring a few leads using data we have available internally, data that was shared in this thread (thanks again to Nerd-Tease), and data that was shared on the FR forums.

If you wish to keep helping the developers fix these issues as fast as possible, please send full bug reports to Support, including detailed bug reports generated by the game itself (by "Activating the generation of bug reports" in the Support tab of your game options). And because flooding the Support is still a very bad idea, please only do so once per player.

We agree that you are owed a compensation for these issues, and as we are working hard on fixing them as fast as possible, we are also thinking on what this compensation should be. We will keep you updated on this point.

The lag and disconnections to seem to go away the closer and closer that I get to a maintenance. During the last hour of last nights maintenance everything ran very smoothly. Normally I will lag and disconnect several times within a single span of 20 minutes, But during that last hour before maintenance I didn't disconnect or lag at all.

I would only assume that the lag and d/c's are because of player volume that is connected to my server during the times leading up to the maintenance as compared to the times during the day when the server is very populated. I have not done anything at all differently during the time before the maintenance as compared to what I normally do during the day when the server is busy.

Then again you would think that if the hardware that Ankama is using were to be put under any amount of stress due to varying population of the servers, then Ankama would know just by looking at different diagnostics that are ran on on the servers themselves.

But yet here we are a month after the server fusion and nothing has been figured out yet?

For me, Its getting only worse.

Past 3 days I cant play without typing something to chat after every turn in fight. Or every minute ingame.

I have constant lag, which can be fixed by typing something to chat - temporarily, for about one minute. Then the lag reoccurs. The lags seem to range from 5 seconds to minutes, sometimes resulting in a dc.

Im currently wasting money, losing enthusiasm and being frustrated.

I really hope the next update is going to fix these issues. Else I will have to quit and wait until the problem is fixed. The game is literally unplayable under these conditions.

I have filled in the form to help out devs. I have tried different internet providers at different places so I can verify it is not on my end.

AsmodeusCZ - this is not on our end for sure. All of us are struggling with these problems and probably we've got different connections/PC setups etc.

I've got a temporary solution, at least it works for me: set your chat to display a relatively active channel and leave it open. For example Community channel works fine for me. It seems that when someone sends a message, your client gets "refreshed" so you might avoid getting screen freezes just by this simple way. I hope that will help and give you at least a small relief. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip, will try.

However, our /a channel seems active enough and the lag is occurring all the time anyways.

When I type myself, it gets refreshed and I can see the game goin in fast forward, including chat messages.

@Nerodos

Will the next update solve any of these issues or it is purely content-oriented?

Regarding information about the issue - at the moment, all we got is this thread. Shouldnt devs release official statement on the frontpage? I know alot of ppl getting frustrated.

Wish u all the best during these days, Im doing a CM for another game and I know the pressure of ppl who feel injustice.

We will of course take advantage of the 2.42 Update to address some of these issues, should some of them still be there that day.

In the meantime, we're stepping things up. No more report to Support, we are now asking you to directly send us bug reports relating to your lag and disconnection issues.

As for an official statement, you can find it here (or, really, in all the subforums), along with some information about compensation.

"Little off topic" I read your post about the compensation and I have one question and since I can't ask it on the original post, i am gonna ask here. What do you mean with "open house"?

The game will be entirely accessible to non-subscribers, as if they were subscribers.

So, correct me if Im wrong, but to compensate a month of highly decreased gameplay quality, u will give out one day of subscription

and make they game accessible for every1 - which will result in even more pressure on servers, which are already not keeping up?

You compensate this issue with promotion day for non-subscribers?

That is a joke. Quitting until I will be able to play like before. I want my team of 4, not barely being able to stay online with main account.

Hugely disappointed. Even candies r more than this.

@Nerodos

Certainly because non-subscribers have been the most impacted players of all over this month. Makes total sense, right?

Now seriously, what is the actual compensation for subscribed players that have endured less than suboptimal gaming experience (and Im being generous here) for a month, literally wasting their money and time?

Have you guys actually given any thought, at all, to this issue? Ankama has extended one day of subscription in the past to all players for issues in game or servers that are nothing compared to what the community have been experiencing over the last month.

Nail in the coffin

I don't understand, is the motive of giving compensation BEFORE the problem is fixed is so we can't thoroughly enjoy it? We've been encountering this problem nearing a month now and we get only an extended day of sub time which is minuscule compared to the time lost facing this issue. Call me inconsiderate, selfish, but it'll be the same with or without the compensation.

If you'll allow me some levity; you are wrong: we're giving two whole days of subscription if you are currently subscribed.

and make they game accessible for every1 - which will result in even more pressure on servers, which are already not keeping up?

You don't know that. Unfortunately, I'm being serious: we don't know what is causing the lag and disconnection issues, and we don't think it's due to pressure on servers, or rather to the sheer number of people connected at the same time. I doubt it helps, but these issues have been occurring on a lot of servers, with a lot of different populations, and not just merged servers either. So the root cause of the issue is not that, it's something else, which we are trying to figure out.

I fully and completely understand that you may be unhappy with the compensation that has been given so far. Your criticism on that front is welcome, as long as you don't break forum rules (in short, please watch your language and capslock key), and it will be included in a report on the whole event, hopefully so that we can do better in the future. For the moment, my hands are tied.

But in the meantime, we are doing everything in our power to fix these problems, but we need your help. We have improved the bug report tool that is part of the DOFUS client to gather as much relevant data as possible about these lags and disconnection issues, and we have opened an email address so you can send your reports directly to the developers. And all of that is useless in fixing these issues if you do not do your part and help us understand why this happens.

Please send us your reports.

Two...Alright, I acknowledge my mistake *kappa.jpg*

Sending reports.

Also encountered a strange bug with Adobe Air - one of my clients was displaying chatbox of another client.

Had logged 2, as u can see, Im not in a party, yet party chat gets displayed, other acc is in that party. Prior to this situation, I got dcd on this account thus kicked from the party.

When clicking on a chat menu button, this message appeared. Was reappearing upon closing if clicked again, until restart of the "corrupted" client. I think the multiaccount optimisation with Adobe Air itself might be an issue, tho im not a dev and lack technical skills.

Gl.

This is an entirely different issue, and it needs its own thread to be addressed properly. Could you please open that thread?

Same, was really glad the lag went away for the following days but it's occurring again after today's maintenance

absolutely gutted

edit: not sure why but it's a lot worse than before. The game doesn't even update for the window that is in action.

For me, game became much smoother but I still have problems with logging in/switching characters. When I try to log in all my 8 accounts at once it always turns out that one or more of them are stuck at login screen. I need to login them separately: login first one, wait 30 seconds, login second one, wait etc. The same with switching characters which are already logged in. That's quite time taking especially if you're doing Almanax quests on a lot of characters.

We are still working on this issue, but we need more bug reports, sent to the address and following the protocol described in this thread.

For me the lag is continuously getting worse since early may. I have noticed that it is triggered whenever the tab isn't selected by windows or is minimized while playing on a solo client. If given enough time when the client is in the lagged state it will give a notification saying you have been disconnected from the server.

EDIT: I also ran a cpu test while playing dofus and noticed random spikes in cpu usage and when there is a spike, it seems like the game freeezes. generally it is pretty low at all other times though.
