Calling all Ogivol Players
VERY Important Message for all Ogivol Players

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ankama will be forced to close the Ogivol Server before the end of February.

All characters that are currently residing on Ogivol and their bank accounts will be moved to one of our English or International servers.

Do you have a preference for which server you would like to be moved to? I will take your opinions into account when making the final decision.

You can choose between:
  • Rushu
  • Rosal
  • Solar
  • Zatoishwan
  • Aermyne

Please post your preference in this thread.

I'm guessing it's the same as any other transfer - you get to keep what you have in your inventory

Because the server is closing, bank accounts will also be transfered to the destination server.

It was not possible to purchase houses or paddocks on Ogivol, so that won't be an issue.

I am a Filipino meaning a player from Philippines meaning my friends are from ogivol, we Filipinos in Rosal wanted to transfer to Ogivol to go where we belong, but this oppurtunity is nice for us to unite in Rosal, instead of us remaining Filipinos in Rosal to transfer to Ogivol but rather they would transfer our fellow brethren.

Hopefully yours,
Dahon from NOYPI(one of the oldest and largest Philippine guild in Rosal and in dofus)

And also starting when Ogivol was created all new Filipinos accounts were transfered immediately to Ogivol, unlike before we can ask many of our fellow countrymen to join us in rosal.

Guys, there are about less than 10 players that are active in Ogivol, myself included. About 30+ players are now inactive and if ever a transfer will be done, they might log back on summer (April-May).

Personally, I would rather have Philippines have their own server. I guess since most Philippine players did not migrate to Ogivol, now we won't have a chance to have our very own server.

Too bad coz, Ogivol have a super low population which allowed me to fight unlimited 10 stars mob and power level to 150 in 2 months. Just this morning, my 3 account team dropped 4 gelano farming all the 10 star strawberry (something that is hard to accomplish versus the gelano farming bots in international). Now I will be back to a bot infested international server. T_T

BTW: Can I still subscribe using Ogrine purchased from Mobius Online? It is much convenient compared to other International payment system, which is one of the reason I preferred Ogivol.

Goodbye Ogivol. It was fun while it lasted. I will be returning as a zaap-sitter in the lag/bot infested Solar. Well, the bright side is new Filipino players can finally experience the international traffic.

my guess is that mobius online is the reason its closing gunner. its also probably a similar situation with the brazilian servers being reabsorbed under ankama's control.

Or I could just focus on my account in the Japanese Server which is Free to Play Cashshop Server.

Is it not possible to migrate our account separately?

Most Ogivol players came from different server so migrating the whole population to just 1 server would be like a punishment to those who have their main character/account on a different server.

Give each individual account their own choice as to what server they would want to migrate. How about when we log on, a pop-up option would allow us to choose which server shall we migrate?

Just think of it this way, there are 5 possible server that Ogivol players originally played prior to starting in Ogivol. If you decide to migrate to just 1 server, you will be punishing 4/5 of Ogivols population.

I'd suggest they'd go to a smaller server like Solar or Zato, since their populations after the server swap dropped pretty bad.

I just realized that if you are correct, it would be better for Ankama to just manage Ogivol server instead of closing our server.

It would still be separated from International and still be exclusive for Philippine players.

Well, maybe an option to migrate to Ogivol can be allowed but only Philippine IP can create a new account in Ogivol.

Yea I know that keeping a server needs resources, but if indeed the problem is Mobius Online, then why not, just like the case of the brazilian servers where only the control of the server is being changed, instead of closing down Ogivol, why not just absorb the whole server into the control of Ankama (is there any brazilian server that was closed down?)

Hi,

I'm with Gunner on the idea that we should be able to choose our own servers rather than a majority vote?
Some of us started on Ogivol wanting a fresh start with absolutely no developments. I'm one of the players who's spent a lot of time and money on working professions like Tailoring, Jewellery, and Shoemaker-ing to the point it was actually useful (Level 80-100) in an undeveloped server making it extremely difficult. The leveling experience was great because we didn't have to fight over the mobs and most of it had a lot of stars which is another down side to this server closing :[ It will be missed. T_T It'd be a waste of efforts if we were absorbed to a very developed server we do not like.

This is very saddening news as we just got our non-wild golden turkeys and were about to start breeding the new gen turkeys. :[
Anyway bottomline can we pick the server we are migrating to rather than a majority vote?

Cheers, Incinerate~

Edit*

And if there is the possibility of absorbing the entire server, I'd love that. :| I've heard a lot of players wanting to play on Ogivol but couldn't for some reasons. Please please please take the reigns and continue the ogivol server. @_@

Yea! If what talith say is correct.

Funny thing about this thread is that I have been banned countless of times from this forum because every Mod in this forum thinks that Ogivol concern do not belong in the International Forum. Now this thread about Ogivol contradict even itself because Ogivol do not belong in this community forum in the first place.

Sure, I can delete this thread and not listen to your opinions if that's what you'd prefer.

Edit: By the way, according to your record, you've never been banned for speaking about Ogivol. Ogivol threads received the same treatment as threads about LevelUp because by and large, I'm not permitted to intervene in the workings of the partner-run servers.

I did report the dissatisfaction of the Ogivol players to our partnership manager, and you can see the results - the partnership is over, things are changing.

Why not just offer everyone on the server a free transfer before mandatory movement is enforced?

Correct me if I'm wrong but Solar is North American and not International.

Anyway Solar or Zatoïshwan are the most logical choices.

Solar is already booming... well, at least compared to the other International servers. I also nominate Zatoïshwan because we need people. Some new craftspeople would be a breath of fresh air, honestly. It would make our lives a lot easier. It's not crowded at all, so there's lots of space to roam around and nobody touches a lot of the best mobs. 6+ star rating on monsters is common outside of Astrub area.

If more female Xelor were to join us, I wouldn't complain...

Unlike the Brazilian servers, Ogivol was hosted on a special platform created for the Mobius partnership and others like it. This means that players cannot transfer from Ogivol to any other server via the Ogrines service. After the initial transfer to an English server, the Ogivol players will be able to use Ogrines to transfer to the English or International server of their choice.

I did ask for all Ogivol players to receive a free transfer after the server closing, but that request was denied. However, I did receive approval to create a "welcome package" for all the Ogivol players that they will receive on their accounts after the server is closed.

as far as I am aware - a free server transfer is not going to be an option - as this is a "special" transfer, as far as I can gather..

And @ Tailth - I was always to understand that Eolar was advertised as NA- as Shika was advertised as English-Irlanda-ish ... Correct me if you can provide a source as to an official changing of their status...? (nit meaning to discredit ya T)

/Poker face,

Edit: while we are on le subject, think we could check about Oto mustams Ogrines service...? Being that it's related to this Ogrine issue of which we speak ( again, /poker face )

Well that looks bad on your superiors but what can you do I suppose. At least they'll be getting something for their troubles. My vote still goes to either Solar or Zatoïshwan since both could use the population boost. Perhaps a 50/50 vote between the 2?

We do have 2 servers, however we can't use the ogrines service to transfer from one to another. And of them, is awfully empty.

I really think the obvious thing would be to place them in the least populated server and offer a free transfer from there if they want one.
Seems Izmar saw that too, but Ankama declined this, so.... why not make some noise on the issue?
If Izmar asks, it's ONE person asking for extra work to be done, if you who are affected by this ALL ask for it the answer might be different.
I am not on the server so I should not vote, but if I did I would vote "Send us where we are needed most and if we do not like that place
let us move to where we want to be, for free"
While letting them get a new life in an other server is fine in itself, as opposed to just pulling the plug and leave them hanging, for once i
would hope to see Ankama making an extra effort and the system to do it is in place already, more or less.(This one time they should be
allowed to keep their bank items on transfer)
If Ankama thinks they should get a good income from people paying to move from where they did not ask to go, that would be too cynical,
some good will is in order here, even if it does ask for extra work.

If Ankama thinks they should get a good income from people paying to move from where they did not ask to go, that would be too cynical,
some good will is in order here, even if it does ask for extra work.
izmar has more clout than all of the players in this community combined. she was told no. the real obvious thing is that ankama really didnt have to offer the players of ogivol this choice at all. they could have yanked the plug and said tough titties, nothing you can do about it.

I really think the obvious thing would be to place them in the least populated server and offer a free transfer from there if they want one.

You're always so pleasant. /sarcasm

Yes it's true, neither Rosal nor Rushu need the extra players. The only 3 that really do are Solar, Zatoïshwan, and Shika and since Shika isn't part of the international community that leaves only two.

Hey everyone.

First, I want to thank everyone for your feedback. Even though this isn't the most pleasant news, I appreciate those who offered to welcome the players from Ogivol to your servers. That really touched my heart and showed me again that we have a community of wonderful people who are friendly and welcoming to others without having even met them. That's so rare and precious, and it does not go unnoticed.

Second, while making this decision, I tried to take into account the wishes of the Ogivol players who posted to the thread and also to think about which of our servers could use an infusion of fresh blood.

So, I have chosen to send the Ogivol players to Solar. I am recommending to the devs that they shut down the server on Monday, February 6, 2012. However, they may need to move up the shutdown to this coming Monday, January 30, 2012. I will let you know as soon as it is confirmed.

Thanks again for your feedback.

No matter what happens, the player base will love the subscribing with Kama option (Ogrines subs).

Just a friendly reminder to those that find an excuse to complain.
