[Changelog] Version 2.8.0 - September 18, 2012 Almanax

Almanax is a new major functionality that:
  • Brings new background to the game on a regular basis.
  • Offers a rewarding daily quest every day of the year (kamas, XP and items from a dedicated NPC shop), aimed at characters of all levels.
  • Temporarily raises the interest in certain areas or content functionality of the game, thanks to daily bonuses ( on XP, drops, gathering, crafting, etc).
  • Promotes the interaction, mutual help and commerce between players.
  • Offers a wide range of activities to players on a regular basis.
  • Allows obtaining a new Dofus in a reasonable way, rather than being luck dependent and uncertain.

A building dedicated to the Almanax has been added to the Lousy Pig Plains, within close proximity of a Zaap. This building can also be accessible via a new teleportation potion, craftable by Alchemists.
A devblog article on this topic is available here.

Notification system

The notification system warns players of important information whenever their DOFUS client is not in focus (for example, when they’re using another application) by displaying a small popup. These messages may be displayed when a perceptor is attacked, at the start of a turn, upon receiving a private message or a group invitation, to name a few. The alerts can be customized in the new ‘Alerts’ category of the option menu.
A devblog article on this topic is available here.

Al Howin’s Curse

The Al Howin event has been improved, thanks to a new dungeon and new rewards. The event will not be directly activated upon the release of the 2.8.0 version. The release dates for both the kick off and the end of the event will be announced on the official website.

Kolossium

  • A record of the waiting time for a Kolossium fight is kept between two registrations: when a fight is proposed and accepted but one of the participants declines the combat, the characters having accepted the fight will automatically be registered for another fight, while maintaining their pre-existing waiting time. This modification prevents players from waiting way too long as a result of other players refusing the proposed combats.
  • Characters that refuse a Kolossium fight are able to register for another fight without any delay but are submitted to a 10 minutes waiting time prior to their next Kolossium fight.
  • Turning enemies into ghouls is now possible via a Kolossium victory when wearing pieces of the Cursed Vampyre set.
  • Entering a Kolossium fight when the character has been following a fight in spectator mode no longer causes a conflict of the character’s real position and the position displayed by the DOFUS client.
  • The HP, AP and MP are updated correctly when a Kolossium fight is started during a challenge.
  • The button to access the Kolossium interface is automatically activated when a character reaches level 50, without the need to reconnect.

Combats

  • The timeline can now be placed either at the top or the bottom of the client.
  • The speed at which HP are regenerated has been doubled (1 point per second while standing and 2 points per second while sitting down). This modification allows new characters to be less dependent on consumables and to limit the waiting time between combats. This modification doesn’t really impact the need to use HP restoration consumables for mid to high level characters, since the HP regeneration is constant and a character’s HP increases with each level.
  • The maximum range bonus that can be accumulated with equipment is now limited to 6 (instead of 9).
  • The amount of AP and MP is updated correctly when a target is affected by multiple glyphs removing AP or MP.
  • The preview of the deterministic lock system during an escape attempt has been corrected for when an enemy possesses a temporary agility bonus that finishes at the beginning of the next turn.
  • The preview of the deterministic lock system works properly when a character is in contact with both a character with positive lock value and another character with a lock value of 0.
  • Disconnecting in the preparation phase of a fight (in challenges, Kolossium, perceptor defence etc.) is no longer considered as abandoning the fight, and reconnecting to the fight is thus possible during the preparation phase.
  • The setting of the display mode of one’s own HP is saved between game sessions.
  • The “Change character” button is no longer greyed out upon joining a fight in spectator mode.
  • The Zatoishwan portrait is now displayed correctly in the timeline if the character is mounted on a Dragoturkey.
  • In some cases, AP, MP and range bonuses were removed twice when their duration ended. This problem has been corrected.
  • Negative dodge or lock values are displayed correctly when mousing over a target.
  • The grouped display of damage in the fight log has been improved when multiple glyphs are activated: the damages are grouped correctly and the activation of the glyphs is displayed before the HP loss.
  • Heals applied to several targets at once are no longer grouped in the fight log if they differ in value.
  • Damage dealt at the start of a turn which leads to the death of the target is no longer displayed on a separate line in the fight log.
  • In the fight log, the lines showing the damage and the attack that’s used are no longer inverted occasionally when actions are used very rapidly.
  • The HP loss is grouped correctly in the fight log when the use of a spell results in an HP loss for the caster.
  • The loss of shield points is correctly displayed in the fight log if the amount lost is 0.
  • In Kolossium fights, the grouping of damages by team (allies or enemies) is improved.
  • The activation of tactical mode when spectating fights is saved correctly for the current game session.
  • The starting positions are correctly adjusted to the map’s relief when tactical mode is activated during the preparation phase.
  • Sram Doubles can no longer bypass the maximum AP and MP allowed from equipment.
  • Heals received during a challenge no longer allow regaining HP after the fight.
  • Temporary vitality bonuses (Ecaflips’ Repercussion, for example) no longer allow regaining HP after the fight.
  • Attacks stealing MP correctly trigger effects which are supposed to be triggered by MP removal.
  • The maximum number of casts per target and per turn are correctly re-initialised after a resurrection.
  • The presence of militiamen is no longer taken into account when calculating whether a PvP fight is balanced or not.
  • Triggered spell effects can no longer be triggered by other triggered spell effects. For example, the Asploda’s spell Ka-blooey can no longer be triggered multiple times when the Asploda is attacked while adjacent to a character under a reflect effect.
  • The maximum HP of a character can no longer reach 0 if the character still has HP left.
  • The HP of a target receiving erosion damage while affected by a shield are displayed correctly.
  • The character starting a fight in a dungeon with ADDS can kick other members of the team correctly.
  • Glyphs are no longer displayed on inaccessible cells.

Challenges

  • The management of an action’s initiator is improved. If a target A kills a target B with a spell triggered by character C, then the character C is considered the initiator of the damage on target B.

Quests

  • The experience and kama rewards for all quests have significantly been increased at low and mid levels, while being moderately increased at high level.
  • Quest “Don’t let the son go down”: NPC Hata Marie’s dialogue takes into account the objective “Find Hata Marie outside the Bwork Village”.
  • Quests “Delicatessen”, “Polar Race”, “Load the Mule”: the quest items now weigh 0 pods.
  • Quest “A remedy for all ills”: Mel points out the position of the NPC Aurora Borealis correctly.
  • Quest “Party pooper”: the dialogue of the Pwince of Wa is triggered correctly during the marriage ceremony in Allister’s throne room.
  • Quest “Poor golden larva...”: the librarian of Amakna Harry Stottel once again reacts when shown the larva.
  • Quest “Wanted: Qil Bil”: the missing text of the second objective is added.
  • The text of quest objectives is no longer truncated in the quest interface.

Professions

  • When an item’s recipe is secret, the message “You cannot create this item” is replaced with “The recipe for this item is secret”.
  • Activating the option “Filter the useful ingredients” in the crafting interface no longer includes signature runes.
  • New fishing spots are added to the Porcos Territory and other subareas.
  • The monsters following the “chief” of their mob no longer position themselves on cells with harvestable resources.
  • The maximum number of harvesting actions that can be stacked changes from 15 to 100.
  • The hunter sellrooms of Bonta and Brakmar are now marked on the world map. They are grouped with the butcher sellrooms.
  • The meat dropping to hunters is modified for the monsters of Incarnam: it is no longer possible to gain resources requiring a hunter level higher than 9. The following monsters no longer drop meat:
    • Young Black Gobbly
    • Young White Gobbly
    • Young Boar
    • Little Gobball
    • Little Gobball War Chief
    • Snoowolf
  • Immature Orange Larva and Immature Green Larva now provide Larva Meat.
  • The Fishing Rod for Snappers is correctly removed from a character’s inventory when they leave the fishing pool.
  • The craft of an item in cooperative mode which fails due to an incorrect recipe now has to be confirmed by both players before it is possible to retry the craft.
  • The option “Free on failure” is no longer displayed in the list of professionals if the profession in question can not fail crafts.

Breeding

  • The shed size has been increased from 100 to 150 mounts, in order to allow breeders to stock at least one couple of each Dragoturkey breed in the same shed.
  • The “Ability” tab in the mount’s record has been removed, with the information previously contained in it now being included in the general record.
  • The icons symbolizing the sex of a mount are now coloured to facilitate the distinction between the two.
  • A scale division is added to the Love, Maturity and Stamina gauges to make it easier to determine when a mount is fertile.
  • New filters have been added to the interface for:
    • the mount abilities
    • the serenity level
    • mounts belonging to the character
  • It is now possible to remove any filter in the breeding interface (and not just the last filter).

Guilds

  • The list of guild houses is simplified and improved. The areas and subareas of the houses are displayed as tooltips above the coordinates.
  • The creation date of a guild is now displayed in the guild interface.
  • Guilds consisting of only one character are removed if the character has not logged in for a year.
  • If the interface displayed after using a Guild Emblem Change Potion is closed and reopened, changing the colour of the emblem’s background works properly.
  • If the leader of a guild passes on his rank to another character, he will now become Second in Command and retain all rights accessible to a regular guild member (instead of being left without any rights).

Inventory and Trades

  • When transferring a stack of objects between two inventories, the quantity suggested by default takes the available free space in the destination inventory into account and suggests only possible transfers.
  • In the exchange interface, it is no longer possible to enter a kama value superior to the quantity of kamas owned or a value superior to 2 billion.
  • In the exchange interface, the spaces between the hundreds and thousands in value are no longer included in the numerical kama limit.
  • When a character attempts to purchase an item without having sufficient funds, the total value of the item is displayed in red and the “Buy” button is grayed.
  • In the NPC shops, it is no longer possible to exceed values of 999 999 999 by using the mouse wheel.
  • A new message is added to inform players about a refused exchange.

A devblog article on the main interface modifications is available here.

  • The contextual menu of characters can be accessed correctly from the group interface during a fight or if the group members are on different maps.
  • The selection of a spell level in the spell book is now saved between openings of the interface.
  • When a character is transformed into a ghost, a red arrow indicates the closest phoenix statue on the mini map, and red arrows show all phoenix statues on the world map. These arrows disappear once the character returns to life.
  • In the chat interface, the auto-completion of names no longer suggests the name of the character using the feature.
  • Transformed characters (under the effect of the Treechnid transformation, for example) now display an information tooltip similar to that of normal characters.
  • The animations of the subscription gifts shown at the login screen are deactivated when the client’s quality is set to low. Only one animation can be played with average, high or custom quality in order to reduce lag caused by simultaneous animations.
  • When the zoom function is used, tooltips of characters and emotes are now also enlarged.
  • In certain cases, the use of contextual help would display notifications that were already consulted before. This problem has been corrected.
  • The texts of Wanted notices which exceeded the size of the interface are once again readable by using the scrollbar.
  • In the interface of the estate agency, the “Required skill” filters once again work properly.

  • The detection of URLs in chat messages is improved.
  • The history of the chat is preserved for all characters of the same account upon changing character or reconnecting.
  • The submenu of a deactivated option of the contextual menu can no longer be opened.
  • The disconnection of an account during the loading of the character selection screen is managed properly.
  • Sending a message to the “Team” channel without being in a fight now displays a more specific error message.
  • The interface buttons are properly locked in place if the additional buttons menu is automatically closed when opening an interface.
  • The “mood” icons (displayed in the guild and friends list after right-clicking a smilie) are now saved between game sessions for up to one week.
  • When entering multiple commands into the chat interface which would generate a message too long to be displayed, the character is no longer disconnected. Instead, the message is truncated properly.

Sellrooms

  • Opening the soul stone sellroom is improved: the client no longer locks up while loading the data and a progress bar is added to the loading process.
  • The dropdown menu containing the categories of full soul stones is correctly updated when new soul stones are added to the sellroom.
  • Buying a batch now updates the price of the next batch instead of reloading the interface.
  • In selling mode, the removal of an item just as it is bought by someone else no longer causes the removal of another item.

Custom sets

  • The bonuses of the dragoturkey are correctly taken into account for meeting the conditions of a custom set.
  • Equipping an item or a custom set now displays a message in the chat interface to inform the player that his equipment has changed.

Shortcuts

  • It is now possible to equip items placed in the shortcut bar with a double click, by using the associated keyboard shortcut or with the contextual menu of the item.
  • De-selecting an item placed in the shortcut bar and then selecting it with a keyboard shortcut now works properly (the object is no longer used after targeting a scenery object to move, for example).
